COLEMAN RECOUNT UPDATE: “A STATEMENT FROM CULLEN SHEEHAN”
By Ryan Flynn | January 12, 2009

ST. PAUL – Coleman for Senate Campaign Manager Cullen Sheehan today issued the following statement:
“Al Franken knows he can’t win this election contest based on the major inconsistencies and discrepancies that were part of the recount, and his attempted power play today is evidence of that. He can’t and won’t be seated in a seat he didn’t win, so he is trying this underhanded attempt to blatantly ignore the will of Minnesotans and the laws of the state. The totals certified by the state canvassing board include double counted votes, inconsistencies regarding rejected absentee ballots, and inconsistent handling of newly discovered and missing ballots. These are serious issues that both the canvassing board and the Minnesota Supreme Court directed be handled in an election contest, and that will go forward as required.â€

Speakin’ ol’ Coleman, Ryan – you know anything about Coleman’s latest FEC Complaint?
January 12th, 2009 at 2:02 PM
Obviously, Al knows no such thing. None of us. Maybe Coleman supporters might have better luck with the truth. Then again, maybe not.
January 12th, 2009 at 2:19 PM
Listen everyone soon the process will get started and on its way to finish. Public perception will be based on how much of a case the Coleman camp can substantiate to the three judge panel. Once the election contest takes place then real concrete reportable hard to spin news will fill the vacuum. This election contest will ensure we count all valid votes. All votes only once. No one on the Franken side should feel offended or nervous unless they secretly harbor doubts of his lead.
January 12th, 2009 at 2:27 PM
Franken doesn’t need to win the Election Contest, he simply needs to not lose by more than 225 votes.
The double counting issue seems to be real:

I am a little bit surprised Sheehan didn’t simply call this press conference to say, “the Senator has reported every gift he has ever received”
January 12th, 2009 at 3:04 PM
Leroy is worried. The only time he seems to post is when he feels he needs to change the topic.
That means it is looking REALLY good for Coleman.
January 12th, 2009 at 5:10 PM
So, your theory is that I am afraid that Norm Coleman released a statement?
Nothing could be further from the truth. When the candidate that Michael spent the whole election calling undignified was declared the winner, he accepted the result with the calm demeanor one would expect from a Senator. And while AL was doing this, Norm has gone the other way, and started acting like a spoiled brat who is owed this seat for some reason. If he wanted to keep it, he should have done more with it. Then he wouldn’t be forced to refinance his home yet again to get a job that pays 10 percent of what he paid to get it.
January 12th, 2009 at 6:30 PM
Shocking that there’s no statement on the FEC complaint. Of course, when you’re guilty, it takes some time to come up with a credible answer….
January 12th, 2009 at 6:52 PM
Leroy, what planet do you live on? Uranus?
I believe you and your ilk are the spoiled brats of the world. You are really a slimy “guy” Leroy. Slimy as they come.
January 12th, 2009 at 7:47 PM
Here you go Ryan. I know you’re just a beginner here, or an intern, or whatever. Maybe you missed this breaking news story, but I’m sure faithful readers of More Dung and Excrement (MDE) will want to get the full story:

January 12th, 2009 at 8:18 PM
Wow! The DFL is claiming that Coleman is breaking the law.
Maybe if it wasn’t the Damn Frigging Liars party it would be worth considering but since it is not why bother with it.
You liberals are so stupid.
January 12th, 2009 at 8:24 PM
Why is “guy” in quotes Pete?
What are you trying to say, you pompous ass? Do you teach your kids this dispicable attitude and disrespect?
January 12th, 2009 at 9:32 PM
Feckless Jeff complaining that he can’t read about the party of Scrubs latest feckless attempt to frustrate our democratic elections…..PRICELESS!
January 12th, 2009 at 9:34 PM
danbrome, do you teach your kids your scatterbrained tilt at reason and common sense?
January 12th, 2009 at 9:41 PM
No, do you?
January 12th, 2009 at 9:45 PM
Pete…
Do you teach your kids that Democrats are stupid? Is that being a good American?
January 12th, 2009 at 11:53 PM
“Do you teach your kids that Democrats are stupid?”
danbrome, you and Tommy Johnson are perfect examples of stupid democrats. Perhaps Pete uses you as an illustration of stupidity to his kids.
I think the “guy” reference was meant to me somewhat gender neutral, so as not offend you. How many times a week do you post on this sight only to defend your stupidity and sexual orientation? (And occasionally to link to male nudity.)
January 13th, 2009 at 6:22 AM
Democrats are stupid, most kids are smart enough to know that on their own.
January 13th, 2009 at 7:03 AM
danbrome. My son learned that all by himself by merely observing his teachers and other liberals. He is active in politics and understands that people like you present a danger to our freedoms.
Smart kid.
As far as my “guy” reference it is obvious I am refering to Leroy.
Another example presented by danbrome of why no one has to teach their kids that Democrats are stupid.
January 13th, 2009 at 7:05 AM
Why would Joe sixpack “teach your kids your scatterbrained tilt at reason and common sense” danbrome.
You would think it would be obvious to your kids that are like that without someone else having to teach them dan.
danbrome = putting his degree in rithmetic to good use.
January 13th, 2009 at 9:54 AM
Clearly the Democrats are stupid. It is also clear that the best way to go about things and to avoid “presenting a danger to our freedoms” is to follow the principals of fear, hate, and greed.
It is clear to this stupid Democrat that the Bush administration has presented a greater danger to our freedoms than one lowly Democrat in Minnesota like danbrome ever could.
I applaud Dan for sticking to his guns and saying what he thinks and believes here. It’s appalling that some of the other “adults” on this site see any view different than their own as dangerous and resort instantly to character attacks.
Lastly, Pete, you probably do have a smart kid. I would expect that although you have taught him the principals of fear, hate, and greed. Even if he has the same beliefs as you, his opinion is just as valid as my own here or anywhere. Why don’t you invite him to post on this site and we can see if he is as childish as his old man.
January 13th, 2009 at 10:05 AM
Integrity,
Please name one thing that the Bush policies have done that personally affects your freedoms or the freedom of anyone you know.
I keep hearing this from the Lefties, but know of noone that can give me one tangible example of their freedom being violated.
You are all so adamant in these accusations, I really want one example of an innocent person having their freedoms trampled. Being this concerned about the issue, surely you know at least one person that this has happened to.
Let’s hear it.
January 13th, 2009 at 10:29 AM
Pete, I don’t think having your son post here would be a good idea. Zero-Integrity credits people for “sticking the their guns.” That could be code for pedophilia.
Zero-Integrity has only one more week of Bush-bashing and then will be forced to realize that for the past two years “Stupid Democrats” have controlled both houses of Congress. With Obama/Pelosi/Reid, socialism has the triple threat in place.
It is irresponsible for Zero-Integrity to encourage kids to post here knowing they’d have to listen to twoputtpottymouth. Personally, I think even most adults would be offended by the gay-slang of danbrome.
January 13th, 2009 at 10:35 AM
In politics, there is often a sense that you need to do something, particularly when your opponent is active. I think the Franken campaign is succumbing to this tendency just a little bit. Franken didn’t really need to comment on the decision of the canvassing board, at least not quite the way he did. He didn’t need to ask for certification, or to request seating.
Franken’s success in the post-election period is due at least in part to steadiness of message. That steadiness got him this far, to the brink of a senate seat, there isn’t any really good reason I can see why it won’t take him a little further.
January 13th, 2009 at 10:37 AM
“It is irresponsible for Zero-Integrity to encourage kids to post here knowing”…
…that Tom Swift (a/k/a, “Swiftee”) posted a link to full frontal male nudity, here on MDE.
And would anyone be really surprised, if he did it again?
January 13th, 2009 at 10:54 AM
chili (aka Sergeant Slander) has no limits to his absurd slander.
Care to explain what “gay slang” is, or better yet, why I would be using it?
January 13th, 2009 at 10:55 AM
Tommy, you know, perhaps a little time spent with a mental health professional would help you sort out your obvious sexual issues. That or a couple hours at a bath house.
In any case I don’t think you’re likely to recieve the help you need through posting mindless dreck all day.
January 13th, 2009 at 10:56 AM
Would someone please send Flounder some links to gay porn? He’s obsessed with pictures of nude men.
January 13th, 2009 at 10:57 AM
Dash..
If you honestly believe that George W. Bush’s policies have not in any way affected your freedoms, you are even more ignorant than I thought.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:02 AM
Why don’t you send Swiftee an e-mail, Rash Dispitck?
Evidently, he has quite the collection.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:03 AM
Dan,
Asking for one instance of this happening to an innocent person. According to you, it’s widespread and should be easily proved.
Give me an example please, not more of your delusional generalizations.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:07 AM
Dash..
Do you want the 139,924 links too (Pete would), or just my condensed version? Do you require 100% proof with total agreement like Pete does too?
Please advise.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:09 AM
danbrome you are an idiot. You have been unaffected, unless of course you have been conversing with terrorists, which I would not completely rule out.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:21 AM
Dan,
Read my original question. Please provide one example how this has personally affected you or someone you know.
I was asking Integrity, so I will now ask you. I don’t need a bunch moonbat links. Being this is so prevalent and of such concern to you Lefties, you must have some first hand knowledge and an example of this happening.
Let’s have it.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:21 AM
Relax danbrome. You are still free to kill babies. You are still free to burn the flag. You are still free to commit sodomy.
Most of all danbrome, you are free to prove how ignorant you are each and everyday!
January 13th, 2009 at 11:54 AM
My son is very aware of this website and his only comment is “why do I bother trying to talk to those liberal trolls that are always hanging out there”. My answer is of course that its fun to mess with the the simple minded.
Yes my soon is “greedy” as defined by the liberals. He prefers to keep the money he earns in his part time job and to give to whomever he feels deserves it (like our church). I now that bugs yo lefties but thats your problem.
danbrome is incapable of even posting one piece of actual factual proof for the great majority of his insane rants here. That is why he responds that there are thousands and just to many to post.
If there were truely thousands you would think he would post just one.
danbrome is obviously a liar and is incapable of the truth.
BTW. I have not been affected in any negative way by the Presidents policies. I have been affected in many positive ways including that there have been no attacks on the US.
January 13th, 2009 at 12:07 PM
Pete, be careful. Dan may call you “pompous”.
Hey Dan, I’m waiting for the one example I asked for. When can I expect an answer?
January 13th, 2009 at 12:44 PM
I apologize, the number of links for Bush Freedoms Lost is more than I originally thought, it’s 1,360,000 as of this morning.
Following are examples of freedoms which President Bush and his fellow Republicans in Congress have already expunged (as reported by the Associated Press):
FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION: Government may monitor religious and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity to assist terror investigations.
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION: Government has closed once-public immigration hearings, has secretly detained hundreds of people without charges, and has encouraged bureaucrats to resist public records questions.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Government may prosecute librarians or keepers of any other records if they tell anyone that the government subpoenaed information related to a terror investigation.
RIGHT TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION: Government may monitor federal prison jailhouse conversations between attorneys and clients, and deny lawyers to Americans accused of crimes.
FREEDOM FROM UNREASONABLE SEARCHES: Government may search and seize Americans’ papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigation.
RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.
RIGHT TO LIBERTY: Americans may be jailed without being charged or being able to confront witnesses against them.
That good citizens are compliant and unconcerned regarding G.W. Bush’s propensity to trample constitutional freedoms bespeaks a great ignorance or a great apathy, or both.
These rights have already been lost! Whether individual Americans have been personally subjected to the resultant tyranny or not doesn’t change the fact that they have already lost these freedoms! This fact, alone, should be enough for any studious lover-of-liberty to be outraged.
That good citizens are compliant and unconcerned regarding G.W. Bush’s propensity to trample constitutional freedoms bespeaks a great ignorance or a great apathy, or both.
Go ahead and argue that this is all lefty bullshit. I will understand, knowing your tendency toward astonishing ignorance.
Fire away!
January 13th, 2009 at 1:09 PM
Of course danbrome failed to provide all of the details. Cut and paste the parts you like danbrome but you once again failed to provide one link.
I see nothing there that impacts any of my freedoms. In fact I see things being put in place to protect my freedoms from terrorists.
Maybe that is what danbrome is worried about since terrorists support the agenda of the Democrats (you know, the to hell with anybody but me attitude). He is afraid that Obama’s undocumented contributions would drop.
January 13th, 2009 at 1:09 PM
Dan,
Now that you have provided the generalizations which were not asked for specifically, please answer the question.
As this trampling of freedom affects millions of Americans, and is widespread among average citizens, we are anxiously awaiting for you to provide the name of just one person you know of that has been persecuted.
I’m sure you can find at least one colleague at the Buger King or Taco Bell you work at that that has some first hand experience.
We’re still waiting.
January 13th, 2009 at 1:25 PM
There is no pleasing Pete.
He always comes back with “that’s not 100% proof”, “I don’t see anything that proves that…”, “please send me liks to the information”, “this is all just lefty moonbat rants”.. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
Nothing can ever be obvious to Pete, he is a complete Doubting Thomas, who gets his jollies by requesting additional information, so as to pretend to be knowledgable.
Pete.. if you don’t want an answer, then don’t ask me a question.
That goes for you too Dash. However, Dash is a bit more clever. He asks a question that does not have a valid answer… that way he can continue the slander against me indefinitely. Nice try!
January 13th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
danbrome, you are the only one willing to take your word for something. Since you have proven to be a liar you know resort to posting random data and then attack me.
You need to get back on your meds son. Would mind seeing someone, somewhere, identify someone that has actually suffered from being protected from terrorist attacks.
danbrome, that rithmetic degree just ain’t doing you any good here is it…
January 13th, 2009 at 2:12 PM
danbrome, why can’t you post just ONE link that proves what you are saying? You say there are thousands yet not one available for us to see.
Lies? Thats my guess danbrome. You are a good Democrat…
January 13th, 2009 at 2:22 PM
Pete..
By your definition of proof, it is impossible for me to provide such a link. I have been trying to explain that to YOU for weeks.
Google “Bush Freedoms Lost”, and enjoy the 1,360,000 links that discuss the Bush Administrations attack on our liberty.
January 13th, 2009 at 2:36 PM
With all due respect, danbroome, despite the fact that you say you’ve uncovered more than a million links to show us our freedoms have been usurped, you’ve failed to provide even one.
But you’ve barfed moonbat pap all over the thread, so (WADR of course) I think you owe us a little clean-up.
Let’s make this simple for a simpleton, such as yourself (WADR of course).
Give us the link that shows how this is done:
RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.
January 13th, 2009 at 2:44 PM
Google “Bush Freedoms Lostâ€, and enjoy the 1,360,000 links that discuss the Bush Administrations attack on our liberty.
I’ll stipulate that you are talented enough to Google, right?
My circluar discussion with Pete a few weeks ago ended any interest I have in links. I told Pete that repeatedly, but he and now you continue to ask me to prove things with links.
Clever technique, but I’m not going there.
January 13th, 2009 at 2:45 PM
Dan,
Slander: a false report maliciously uttered and tending to injure the reputation of a person. What drugs are you on? It would have been slanderous had I called you intelligent, but I would never make that mistake.
You were asked a simple question, with the correct answer being,
“I haven’t had one of my freedoms taken away by Bush’s policies, and I don’t know of anyone that has”. That is the valid answer. Plain, simple, and truthful.
I know “slander” is a big word for you, but in the future, I would suggest knowing the meaning of a particular word before using it incorrectly and embarassing yourself further.
January 13th, 2009 at 2:46 PM
danbrome you dumb idiot, tell us how YOU or SOMEONE YOU KNOW has directly lost freedoms under this president.
Are you conversing with terrorists?
January 13th, 2009 at 2:51 PM
So, you’re saying that you pulled all of those statements straight out of your ear (aka Ashtray’s derrier).
Imagine our surprise; pffft.
Ya goof.
January 13th, 2009 at 3:13 PM
Mr. danbrome’s description of his discussion also describes the room he’s most likely sitting in right now.
January 13th, 2009 at 3:17 PM
danbrome, so you agree that there is no link available that would prove any of your statements are true and factual.
We’re finally getting somewhere. Glad to see the therapy is working.
January 13th, 2009 at 4:25 PM
I think danbrome couldn’t keep his lies straight anymore and moved onto the next thread where he will no doubt fabricate some more of his information. Luckily, he’s not very bright and always gets backed into a corner he can’t lie his way out of.
If anyone not familiar with MDE happens to come to the website, Flounder and danbrome will be living examples of how Franken received so many votes in Minnesota.
January 13th, 2009 at 4:29 PM
Two Putz,
You keep harping about Swiftee posting a link containing male frontal nudity. It seems that perhaps you have a little penis envy?
January 13th, 2009 at 4:34 PM
danbrome,
If you Google “Barack Obama is a Socialist”, there are over 1.8 million links. So what’s your point? President Bush has kept our country safe from terrorism since the attacks of 9/11. Every intelligence agency in the world predicted more attacks on the U.S. after 9/11 and they didn’t occur. One of the reasons is because the Bush administration sought policies to obtain information on terrorists and disrupt their plots. If you think that’s something to apologize for, you’re extremely misguided.
January 13th, 2009 at 4:41 PM
King Hussein IS a socialist.
Thank God.
January 13th, 2009 at 4:56 PM
Once Hussein is president, and we add Franken to the Senate we can remove all the Bush policies that are “protecting” us so our long term goal of total destruction of the United States at the hands of terrorists can take place.
You fools, don’t you understand how freedom works? Freedom means that not only are you free to the basic rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but so is EVERYONE else! When one persons freedoms are threatened, all of our freedom is threatened. This means that anyone who has been wrongfully imprisoned indefinitely without being charged or given a trial, weather I know them or not, affects my freedoms. Does this explain/count as your smoking gun, personal knowledge, first hand account, total 100% proof that you guys require?
Just because you call Dan a liar doesn’t make it true. Just because you choose to ignore what is right in front of you doesn’t mean it’s not there. Wake up. Your boy Bush and his buddies did plenty to limit our freedoms under the guise of “protecting” us.
Lastly, since you have asked for specific proof on freedom, let me ask you something. Can you tell me how you are personally affected by two consenting adults engaging in sodomy?
January 13th, 2009 at 5:13 PM
If affects me personally from a religious standpoint. Freedom of religion is protected under the constitution, isn’t it?
Oh, I forgot, that’s one of the freedoms you on the left don’t want protected unless you are a muslim. You can kill babies, but don’t be a Christian.
BTW, isn’t Obama keeping some of the Bush policies in place regarding terrorism?
Looks like the hard core Left was sold a bill of goods by Barry Hussein Obama. The anti-war crowd, gays, etc. all look pretty foolish right now by contributing all of that time and money, only to be betrayed before he even takes office. If’t fun to go over to the Daily Kooks and listen to how screwed they all feel.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people I say.
January 13th, 2009 at 5:20 PM
Folks, I think you’re being had by Mr. danbrome.
No one is that dense; he’s just testing to see how silly he can be.
January 13th, 2009 at 7:09 PM
This Joe guy is pretty sharp!
January 13th, 2009 at 7:25 PM
danbrome really is that dense Joe. He is a troll and as we all know trolls are not very bright.
This is where danbrome tells us all he has a degree in rithmetic.
January 13th, 2009 at 11:30 PM
That would be Mathematics you clown, and with honors.
January 14th, 2009 at 12:43 AM
danbrome,
Since you’re a math wizard, I assume you can count to 2,974 (the number of people killed on 9/11). I’m also sure you can tell me the square root of 9 (the number of terrorists waterboarded). And I’m also sure you can tell me the natural number preceding 1 (the number of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11).
January 14th, 2009 at 2:39 PM
Does “with honors” mean that you are able to use your fingers AND toes?
January 14th, 2009 at 11:58 PM
Please refrain from making a joke out of my accomplishment.
