If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.
If somehow Franken manages to win this race maybe he won’t need the dog. He could have a friend in Treasury Secretary-designate Timothy Geithner. They could find something to talk about most likely.
“President-elect Barack Obama’s choice to run the Treasury Department and lead the economic rescue effort disclosed to senators Tuesday that he failed to pay $34,000 in taxes from 2001 to 2004, a last-minute complication in an otherwise smooth path to confirmation.” (Source, Associated Press, January 13, 2009)

I was going to check in here and comment how I thought we need to get by these relative minor issues when it comes to approving Presidential appointees.
Then I read posts like Jeff’s and danbrome’s and I realize that no matter how reasonable Republicans will be that the far left radicals like these two jerk offs will never act in a reasonable manner.
A finer pair of jackasses would be hard to find…

The old theory is that you don’t acknowledge people you wish to ignore, but over the past weeks that I found this site and became interested in Minnesota’s recount I have been reading postings by this Swiftee. Is this the same as Tom Swift?
I learned that this Tom Swift has a blog, Pair ‘o Dice. Is this the same person?
I love debating politics – that’s what brought me to this site – but if this guy Swift is the same Swiftee, I say boot him from this. I was sickened to learn his racist opinions. I found his site at about the same time I found this one and couldn’t believe it.

I guess this must be your first time on a political site, and you haven’t read some of the posts that your fellow koolaid drinkers post here. If you had, you might realize how utterly nonsensical your first attempt at posting sounds.
Maybe you should start at some of the Lefty sites and convince them to play nice before coming here to dictate to all of us.

I don’t know who Dan is and I’m not him. I don’t have to be a vet of this site to know what’s right or wrong. All I know is what I’ve read since I’ve been here: that this swiftee writes racists and homophobic posts. Do you really feel up to defending that?
I’m fine with ripping an Obama appointment for screwing up his taxes and keeping an illegal on the payroll. I’m totally against ripping a person apart for being black or not straight.

Democrats love to collect taxes and sometimes forget to pay them.
Republicans love to legislate against homosexuality, and yet a few seem to really love the gay sex.
What exactly is the point. That hypocrisy exists in society today?

Master: Sorry if I didn’t see that comment among the many I saw made by Tom Swift “Swiftee.”
It’s wrong, I agree. But, this “swiftee” has a record of non-stop vulgar posts.
I’ll again ask: Is this what Brodkorb wants to explain later during an election run by himself or by someone he’s working for?
Michael will be held responsible for his site. He will have to answer to requests like this when the media asks. The first amendment is one thing, explaining control over a site that doesn’t answer to user requests to delete racist, homophobic attacks is another.

Michael does police his blog, and has deleted many a post here. The problem you have is that he protects a person’s right to free speech, which is foreign to you and other liberals. Unlike most Leftist blogs, he also doesn’t delete posts he disagrees with including ones that personally attack him.
I didn’t see you over at the Daily Kooks after the election when Prop 8 passed in California. There were threats of violence by gays against individual Christians, churches, blacks, and anyone else supporting the ban on gay marriage. This is just one example. There are plenty of far left sites for you to visit and see first hand what your side allows to be posted and what they don’t.
You really need to start your “crusade” somewhere other than at MDE. Please keep us updated Zelly, dan, Flounder, Integrity, or whichever one you are. Would love to see the responses you receive.
