SOS OFFICIAL ADMITS ERRORS ON STAND
By Ryan Flynn | March 4, 2009
“Some absentee voters could receive the wrong ballot materials because of outdated or inaccurate information in Minnesota’s registered-voter database, the state’s election director said this morning during the U.S. Senate recount trial in St. Paul.
Gary Poser, answering questions from Joe Friedberg, Norm Coleman’s lead trial attorney, said the database may not always be current, partly because counties don’t always have enough workers to enter new information.
Poser said there may be a number of reasons why, for instance, a registered voter seeking to vote absentee might receive materials intended for non-registered voters, including clerical error.
‘Or it could be the data was wrong?’ Friedberg said.
‘It’s certainly possible,’ Poser replied.” Source: Star Tribune, March 4, 2009.

It has become clear that where the count stands is clearly not where it should be based on many irregularities throughout the process.

Stop The Presses …… the SOS screwed up.
Was this on the same page as the “Dog Bites Man” story.
(Sorry in advance Hiram, I don’t have the patience left to try and explain this to you).

Where does it say the SOS screwed up? Any database is only as good as the people who enter the data into it. Search a state health database and I bet you can prove that 98% of people who gave birth were female. Does that mean the remaining 2% were male? No. It means people screw up when they enter data into databases. Garbage in, garbage out.
Also, this headline is a bit off. Poser did not admit there were errors. He said it was possible that there could be errors.

AC,
Do read what you write?
You know the claim that nobody screwed up …. then give an example where you said “It means people screw up”?
What you are saying IS the point. The information is wrong because the SOS screwed up.
Garbage in. Garbage out. …. I could not agree more.

Not too many comments here yet. The creeps appear to be at the STRIB site. Get this, those paid lefty
phonies are actually accusing the left wing reporter Kevin Duchschere of bias IN FAVOR of Coleman. The next thing that you’ll hear is Duchshere going on MPR and saying (excuse me the interviewer saying) something like “…well Kevin you must be doing something right, because BOTH sides are accusing you of being biased.” YOU KNOW THE PEOPLE AT THE STRIB MUST KNOW THAT THESE COMMENTS ARE COMING FROM THE SAME SOURCE OVER AND OVER AGAIN, JUST UNDER DIFFERENT TITLES !

It has become clear that where the count stands is clearly where it should be based on the integrity of our DFL Secretary of State.

I am sorry. I don’t get your title. Posser did not admit to errors, he said that it is possible that there could have been errors. Those are two distinctly different things. You make it sound as if he gave direct testimony of first hand knowledge of errors. This does not seem to be the case, at least not from what was written in this article.
March 4th, 2009 at 8:24 PM
KIS,
I did read what I wrote. Nowhere in that story does Poser admit error on the stand as the headline states. He said that it is POSSIBLE that human error could occur.
I COULD win the Powerball this weekend. But stating I WILL win this weekend are not the same thing.

Like I have stated before, Ryan is a bit loose with the facts.

Haven’t seen LeRoy the Clown around much after the verbal Smackdown a few posts back… Wonder why?
March 4th, 2009 at 10:18 PM
So, what I read here is that budget cuts have caused essential pre-election database work to remain undone.
Who cares if we have accurate elections? As long as the Taxpayers League loves T-Paw, I’m happy.
March 4th, 2009 at 10:22 PM
Which Smackdown was that?
Was it the one where Chestnut offered to rape my children, or was it the one where Keep It Simple once again became confused about some simple idea or another?
March 5th, 2009 at 12:00 AM
Leroy prefers an oral Smackdown.

The SOS needs to prioritize the spending in his office. Since this is a high priority project lower priority work should be delayed.
If he stopped taking work direction from ACORN it might help.

When Richie steps down, he can go on the road with a dog-and-pony show. He’s experienced!
Franken should go back to his true calling: Writing Porn.

I’m just wondering what happened that all this is now vacant from ANY national attention, – who pulled the plug?
March 5th, 2009 at 9:27 AM
Isn’t it obvious that the Democrat party has directed their thugs in the media to put a black out on any reporting? I’m willing to bet that the Democrats are planning a media blitz and are working with the MSM to control the release of information until “the time is right”.
The only channel that I can find updates on is Fox News.
March 5th, 2009 at 9:40 AM
Are there any channels other then Fox that still report the news ??
March 5th, 2009 at 9:43 AM
Pete..
The reason the national attention has diminished is because the contest is lost.
Fox News has every right to continue the drum beat in support of Former Senator Coleman, but people hungry for news would rather focus on President Obama’s bold actions to address the financial crisis.
If Coleman appeals the lost contest, he will offically become the most pathetic politician in Minnesota history.
March 5th, 2009 at 9:44 AM
I prefer to get my news from the Clinton News Network, although I do watch a lot of Fox News just for the laughs.
March 5th, 2009 at 9:47 AM
The left wing biased news media doesn’t want to put a spotlight on corrupt proceedings from a rigged election.
March 5th, 2009 at 10:04 AM
Karen, be careful. You now how pissy Leroy-the-jackass and danbrome get when conservative women post.
However if you want to see them get really pissy, say something negative about child molesters or socialists. That’s when the claws come out!
March 5th, 2009 at 10:57 AM
Karen..
With all due respect, if the election was rigged, Senator-Elect Franken would have won by a lot more than 261 votes.
Chile, don’t forget to repeat your silly statement that I hate women.
March 5th, 2009 at 11:27 AM
danbrome, why do you hate women?
The vote swing since election day has been roughly 10 votes per county towards Franken.
Don’t cut Richie’s ability to rig an election. He’s only been in office two years. If ACORN would have been more proactive with voter fraud this would be a non-issue.
At this point and time, Ritchie and ACORN are blaming each other. After Franken loses, they’ll need to sit down and figure out what went wrong.
March 5th, 2009 at 12:03 PM
News Flash – Big data bases (3,000,000+ names qualifies as big in my book) sometimes have erroneous information. To admit that there COULD BE errors is just honest. To be surprised that errors could be present, is simply naive.
March 5th, 2009 at 12:03 PM
I hope an independent group will appeal if the court rules against Coleman. IT IS NOT ABOUT HIM OR THE GOP. I do not want to be disenfranchised by an tainted election process. REVOTE like they did in New Hampshire in 1974.
March 5th, 2009 at 12:10 PM
I think they should keep doing a revote until Former Senator Coleman wins.
March 5th, 2009 at 12:17 PM
ALBY – There will be no re-vote in Minnesota. That is not part of the remedy sought by the Coleman campaign. They are seeking to have some ballots counted in the re-count removed and they are seeking an order to have some absentee ballots not counted in the re-count to be counted.
Wisely, the Coleman campaign is not alleging fraud nor have they suggested the election process is “tainted”.
They have pointed out some inconsistencies in how different county/municipal election officials treated some absentee ballots. They’ve argued that some of the decisions made by those officials may not have been fully compliant with the instructions from the Secreatary of State or in a handful of instances, contrary to state law.
We will probably know within five weeks or so if the Coleman campaign was successful in making its case. But no matter how the Court rules, one thing they will not do is order a re-vote. There is no direct provision in Minnesota law for that remedy and the Coleman campaign has not asked for it.
March 5th, 2009 at 1:11 PM
danbrome. It is obvious you do not watch Fox News because if you had you would know they have been reporting the details from both sides on the court challenge. Unlike the liberal media who only report negatives about Coleman (and even turn positives into negatives for Coleman) and positives about Franken.
You can come here and lie all you want danbrome but anyone who truely looks at all sides of issues knows that you are a liar.
How do you tell if danbrome is being dishonest? He is posting on MDE.
March 5th, 2009 at 10:50 PM
You mean “fair and balanced” Fox News, the same Fox that has the least informed viewers of all the major outlets? Pete, they say you are known by the company you keep.

AC, unlike you I watch all the various major news networks, read printed media that leans both left and right, and maintain friendships with both liberals and conservatives.
Unlike you I do not allow anyone to tell me what to think or what to say. I think for myself.
People of your ilk are so uninformed because you limit your sources of information to only those that agree with your position. It would be best if you educated yourself before attempting to speak on the topics you do here.
