MN SRC PRESS RELEASE: “MN SRC PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: DEMOCRATS WILL BE ATTEMPTING TO RAISE YOUR TAXES TO SOLVE BUDGET DEFICIT”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 5, 2009

(St. Paul) – In response to Senate Majority Leader Larry Pogemiller’s (DFL-Minneapolis) admission on TPT’s “Almanac: At The Capitol” last evening that “property tax increases” or “state revenue increases”  will be a part of any solution to solve the growing budget deficit, Senate Republican Leader David Senjem (R-Rochester) released the following statement:

“Minnesotans be warned: DFL legislative leadership will be attempting to raise your taxes to solve the growing budget deficit. I have repeatedly said that now is the worst time in state history to raise taxes.  With all due respect, DFL legislative leaders are out of touch with their legislative talk of taxes increases.

“Helping create a business-friendly environment that will stimulate the creation of private sector jobs is the best solution to solving this budget deficit. Minnesota businesses are being chased away with excessive taxes and regulations, and any call for new tax increases is simply the wrong approach to jump-starting Minnesota’s economy.”

###

Top DFL Legislative Leader Says “Property Tax Increases” or “State Revenue Increases” Will be Part of Budget Solution. “So I think it’s fair to say that under any resolution of this [budget deficit] there’s going to be property tax increases or state revenue increases.” (Senator Larry Pogemiller, “Almanac: At the Capitol”, TPT, March 4, 2009)

I think when you ask Minnesotans if they would rather have more criminals on the street or pay more in taxes, the pro-tax ranks in this state will swell beyond the majority that already exists.

Actually, we would rather cut the wasteful spending and taxes at the same time. Cutting business taxes would allow for more job growth, and cutting individual income taxes would let people decide how to spend their own money instead of having the state Democrat party spend it foolishly.

It’s too bad you can’t comprehend this Leroy, but since you probably are at such a low income level, you aren’t paying taxes in the first place.

If we put our prisoners in the Appleton prison it would reduce our costs Leroy. That is referred to as “cost cutting”. Much better for the economy than raising taxes.

Just think Leroy. We could keep jobs in rural Minnesota and help solve the over spending Democrat problem. Thank God Rep. Westrom got the ball rolling and convinced Rep. Falk to co-sponser a bill to do just that!
