RUMORS AT THE CAPITOL: BAKK ATTENDS ELTON JOHN/BILLY JOEL CONCERT, SKIPS TAX CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

By Ryan Flynn | May 6, 2009

Multiple Capitol sources are buzzing that Senator Tom Bakk reportedly attended last night’s Elton John & Billy Joel concert at Xcel Energy Center.  Sources are saying that last night’s tax conference committee wrapped up early, could this be because of last night’s concert?

Wherever Bakk was last night, it was not listed here.

I am still working on sources trying to confirm this information.

If anyone attended the concert and happened to see Senator Bakk please leave a comment in the comments section.

UPDATE: A dedicated reader of Minnesota Democrats Exposed sent me a transcript from Monday’s Tax Conference Committee:

“Madam Chair…I have a little commitment over the dinner hour tomorrow, so I’ll have to be absent for a period of time.” Senator Tom Bakk, May 4, 2009

Was the concert just “over the dinner hour”?

UPDATE #2: House Republican Leader Marty Seifert made statements today during floor session in the Minnesota House of Representatives about Senator Bakk’s reported attendence at the concert.  I’m still trying to confirm if Bakk attended.

Why wouldn’t Bakk just wait for the concert tour to make a stop on The Range?

Bakk was not at the Elton John concert. This is just a rumor being floated by the other DFL candidates to smear him.

    dont-

You pretend like Michael and/or Micheal lite care.

They like to spread malicious lies under the guise of legitimate rumors they are tracking, and then, conveniently, they never get around to dispelling the rumors. Damage done. Lawsuit avoided.

This is the sort of fecal splatter most everyone has come to expect from MDE.

I attended the concert. Tom Bakk did a duet with Elton John on “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” dedicated to Governor Pawlenty.

How did your sources miss that?

    Leroy..

With all due respect, remember that MDE is supposed to expose Democrats, even though we all know there is much more to expose about the GOP.

Desperate people will do desperate things…

How much was the beer? $6.75 a bottle?

Looks like someone just got the new shipment of DFL Kool-Aid.

Careful Leroy. It’s only a matter of time before chile/Pete come on here with there standard garbage.

Fecal matter = poop = monkeys throw poop = Michael/Ryan are monkeys = Leroy is a racist.

It only takes them about three seconds to jump to asinine conclusions.

Careful Leroy, AC is a known racist. She’s trying to get you to join her.

quicksand, regardless of what AC says in post #9, Leroy-the-jackass isn’t a racist. He supports the rights of convicted pedophiles regardless of race.

perceived note from Sen Tom Bakk to constituents:

“Sorry I wasn’t present at the capital, doing the work you elected me for, because I had another commitment during that time. You see, I got these free tickets to the Elton John & Billy Joel concert from my favorite lobbyist and well, surely you understand that is more important than discussing the boring state budget.”
