If I were your priest, I'd make you say 5 "Our Fathers" and 10 "Hail Marys" for all of your whoppers.

Chris,

I try to avoid Fox, but unfortunatly forced to watch it on one of the TVs at the gym.

If given a choice, I tend to watch BBC News and read their web site. Been doing that since 9/11. The coeverage of the US by a foreign press is much better. At least I think so.

P.S. brome,

Rush posts the transcripts of his entire shows on Rushlimbugh.com for all to see (including Members like me). If you think you're going to win a pissing match with someone who actually listens to the show instead of a phony like you, you're wrong.

If you were Catholic, I'd tell you to go to confession for your lies. Since you're not Catholic, like me, you need to talk to your pastor and find out the difference between a lie and the truth.

brome,

See, that's what happens when you go to left wing websites and see what they say Rush said. Rush was talking to a so-called Republican caller who proudly voted for Obama. This is what Rush actually said. And it wasn't on 6/4 it was on April 7. You can read the entire transcript here:

Chris..

Sorry, but this is a direct quote from Thursday 6/4.

"Barack Obama is president of the United States today because of stupid, ignorant people"

You were going to call me a liar no matter how I responded to your plea. And you wonder why I don't rush to answer your loaded questions.

LOL

brome,

I caught you in another lie. That's not what Rush said last week. He said that Powell has already left the party when he endorsed Obama at a time meant to give Obama the maximum political benefit of his endorsment. He said that Powell has never publicly advocated Republican policy positions. And he said that Powell's rhetoric about running moderates is hollow when the GOP ran the exact kind of candidate that Powell asked for and he still voted for Obama. Rush did not say that Obama is president because of stupid ignorant people.

danbrome is a liberal liar who no more watches Fox News than he listens to Rush or is, in fact, a moderate. Brome, you should talk to your pastor about the difference between the truth and a lie.

Chris..

Seriously, and with all due respect, I probably watch more Fox News than YOU DO.

It helps me strengthen my personal commitment to the Democrats who buried the GOP in the November election.

My favorite comedy hour is 8-9 pm, watching Sean Hannity trying not to laugh as he works through the GOP talking points. Funny stuff.

I also watch the Fox News business block from 9-11 am on Saturday morning... LOL Lot's of great material there too. All the sobbing and hand wringing about Obama and the world coming to an end!

Chris, you bring up an excellent point about libs judging Fox, without ever watching it.

I would love to see a poll on Rush Limbaugh among people who've actually listened to his program. His approval rating would be in the 80's.

You know, all of you people who say that the country wants gay marriage and higher taxes need to look at California. Obama won California by a margin of 61% to 37% yet Californians rejected both higher taxes and gay marriage.

AC,

Now you're resorting to brome's Fourth Grade tactics. What I'm clearly saying (and let me type slow so you can understand this) is that Obama's poll numbers are irrelevant to the issues being discussed here including gay marriage and taxes. Every time brome is challenged to back up anything he says, he cites Obama's poll numbers.

I find it hilarious that people like you can say that Fox News is B.S. when I'd bet you never even watch the network. You probably watch government-run MSNBC.

Every time brome is challenged to back up anything he says, he cites Obama’s poll numbers.

I find it hilarious that people like you can say that Fox News is B.S. when I’d bet you never even watch the network. You probably watch government-run MSNBC.

Chris..

"If you want gay marriage, then try to get it passed in the legislature of your state. I agree with Vice President Cheney who says that states should decide individually whether to recognize same sex marriage."

I agree 100%.

The DFL'ers from the rural areas of the state won't vote for gay marriage.

Leroy and the other libs here, why won't you accept civil union as a compromise?

I believe that marriage is a commitment made in a church (or other religious institution). The state should have no say in marriage.

Why do liberals keep denying people this opportunity?

Mr.,

If a majority of Minnesotans support gay marriage, why hasn't the legislature passed a bill making gay marriage legal?

Seems to me that most arguments that are strong majority issues as you claim gay marriage is have no problem getting through the legislature. I'm not aware that either the Minnesota House or the Senate has passed a gay marriage bill, despite overwhelming DFL majorities.

If a majority of Minnesotans support defining marriage as one man and one woman, why hasn't there been a constitutional amendment effort to put it into law?

Seems to me most arguments that are strong bipartisan issues as you claim this to be have no problem getting through the legislature.

Mr.,

That from the king of setting up the strawman. In fact, I'd say your whole argument comparing gay marriage to segregation is a strawman argument. And, blacks in California who supported Proposition 8 by a margin of 70% to 30% agree that gay marriage isn't a civil rights.

I'm not debating nuance. There's a reason why same sex couples shouldn't be allowed to marry and it's because the majority of voters in all but a handfull of states support defining marriage as between one man and one woman. If you want gay marriage, then try to get it passed in the legislature of your state. I agree with Vice President Cheney who says that states should decide individually whether to recognize same sex marriage.

I am just noting that you apparently have recently been schooled in the theory of straw man arguments, and your frequent use of the tactic is getting the debate nowhere.

If you want to debate it, quit with the nuance, and tell me why same sex couples should not be allowed to marry.

Mr.,

I'm not here to defend someone else's words. But when you bring segregation into the argument to defend your position, you're the one making the comparison to civil rights. Incidentally, if you look at the rhetoric of gay rights activists they are the ones asking for what they call civil rights.

That juxtaposition was in response to Chile's asinine statement that gay people have equal rights since they too are allowed to marry straight people.

Again, if you want to debate the issue, I am more than willing. But if your goal here is to paint me into a corner with words I never said, well, I guess I will move on to other topics and other people.

No, Mr., whenever you compare the "plight" of gays to the shame of segregating blacks, you're not bringing Civil Rights into the argument. Not ever, ever, ever.

I will repeat my question.

When did I say that being gay was a civil right? You can infer whatever you want from what I have written, but I would encourage you to recognize that the paragraph you quoted is NOT me saying that being gay is a civil right.

brome,

I would just say that you have made many claims on this website including being a moderate and being straight. You haven't backed up that you're a moderate any more than you've backed up that you're happily married to a woman.

The internet is a funny place. You can post anything you want here. I never make assumptions about people or talk about them personally. For all I know, you could be a lesbian.

Now, wtf do Fox's poll numbers about Obama have to do with anything being discussed here? You just made an outrageous statement about Obama and Pay Go, which I refuted and all you can come back with are Obama's poll numbers. I stand by my comment about Obama being the Pied Piper of Hamlin.

Since you want to talk about polls, Rasmussen Reports has a poll that shows Americans trust Republicans to handle the economy over Democrats by a margin of 45% to 39%. They trust Republicans on taxes over Democrats by a margin of 44% to 39%. And they trust Republicans over Democrats on National Security by a margin of 51% to 36%.

Obama may be president now, but there is another election in a year and five months. Unless, of course, the Democrats change that too.

One more time:

It is slanderous to spread untruths about another person, knowing that these statements are false. If you don’t buy that, ask your Pastor.

That’s what offends me. It has nothing to do with being called gay or straight.

Mr.,

Don't be an ass. Here's your quote:

"And your argument about equal rights is laughable. In the 50s, black people and white people also had equal rights. There were white fountains and colored fountains. Seats in the front of the bus for whites, and seats in the back for blacks. Homosexuality is not a choice. The fact that you seem to believe it is curable like a disease shows just how backwater your world view truly is."

Mr., at least be honest about what you say.

Mr.,

If being gay is a civil right, then why did 70% of African-Americans vote against Proposition 8 in California?

Brome,

Go peddle your bullshit somewhere else. You have yet to name a single moderate position you hold despite at least a dozen invitations to do so. If you don't think there's anything offensive about being gay, then why are you so offended when someone calls you gay? Your hypocrisy (and liberalism) holds no bounds.

It is slanderous to spread untruths about another person, knowing that these statements are false. If you don't buy that, ask your Pastor.

That's what offends me. It has nothing to do with gays or straights.

It makes him a smart politician who did what he had to do to defeat the sitting Senate President.

His position on gay marriage was party line before he was outed, and he saw no need to change it after. The second he comes out in favor of gay marriage, the extreme right wing of the party wins, and they get to kick him out of the caucus. And since the vote is extremely rare, he can keep getting the republican endorsement to vote like a democrat, and the only cost is lip service to the issue. If a tough vote were to come, and he could be the deciding vote, I am not so sure that he would remain where you think he is.
