I try to avoid Fox, but unfortunatly forced to watch it on one of the TVs at the gym.

If given a choice, I tend to watch BBC News and read their web site. Been doing that since 9/11. The coeverage of the US by a foreign press is much better. At least I think so.

I caught you in another lie. That’s not what Rush said last week. He said that Powell has already left the party when he endorsed Obama at a time meant to give Obama the maximum political benefit of his endorsment. He said that Powell has never publicly advocated Republican policy positions. And he said that Powell’s rhetoric about running moderates is hollow when the GOP ran the exact kind of candidate that Powell asked for and he still voted for Obama. Rush did not say that Obama is president because of stupid ignorant people.

Since you want to talk about polls, Rasmussen Reports has a poll that shows Americans trust Republicans to handle the economy over Democrats by a margin of 45% to 39%. They trust Republicans on taxes over Democrats by a margin of 44% to 39%. And they trust Republicans over Democrats on National Security by a margin of 51% to 36%.

Obama may be president now, but there is another election in a year and five months. Unless, of course, the Democrats change that too.

His position on gay marriage was party line before he was outed, and he saw no need to change it after. The second he comes out in favor of gay marriage, the extreme right wing of the party wins, and they get to kick him out of the caucus. And since the vote is extremely rare, he can keep getting the republican endorsement to vote like a democrat, and the only cost is lip service to the issue. If a tough vote were to come, and he could be the deciding vote, I am not so sure that he would remain where you think he is.
