MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: STATEMENT ON MINNESOTA SUPREME COURT RULING
By Ryan Flynn | June 30, 2009
St. Paul- Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman-elect Tony Sutton today issued the following statement regarding the Minnesota Supreme Court’s ruling in the U.S. Senate race.
“Today’s ruling wrongly disenfranchised thousands of Minnesotans who deserve to have their votes counted. Alongside Senator Coleman, the Republican Party of Minnesota has fought to make sure every vote counts and all voters are treated fairly and uniformly. As we move forward, our deeply flawed election system must be dramatically improved to ensure our state’s elections are fair, accurate and reliable.”

Well. That’s churlish.
Nice to see the GOP being less classy than Norm (who gave, I think we can all agree, a nice statement in his concession).
June 30th, 2009 at 6:53 PM
Feminist Fecke, what’s churlish about speaking the truth? We know who won, but we don’t know who got the most votes.
June 30th, 2009 at 6:59 PM
Funny. A whole legislative session has come and gone since this election, and not once did I see Tony Sutton lift a finger to address any of these flaws that he has identified in the system. One would think if the system were so flawed, the republicans would try to fix the problem, and not just add it to their slate of excuses.

What’s truthful about calling it a deeply flawed election? The number of ballots in dispute was infinitesimal. The accuracy was amazing. I recognize that Republicans are mourning and you have every right, but the election was merely remarkably close, not stolen. Besides, if the process is so flawed, why did Pawlenty veto every reform bill the last two years? he said it was because they didn’t draw enough Republican votes, but that’s the point. Republicans stopped every attempt to fix the problems.

Eric, “The number of ballots in dispute was infinitesimal.” B.S. The number of votes in dispute is several times larger than the 312 difference in the final count.

What a fucken joke. Michael Brodkorb for more than a year called candidate Franken Angry Al. Now as hand puppet to his boss at the GOP he calls the election a fraud. Sir, you and your ilk at GOP headquarters are sickening.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:53 PM
Sutton..
Sore loser, full of excuses. I hate tools.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:57 PM
Say, Ryan, what happened to my comments about Tony’s puppet boy Michael? And the GOP not being “gracious” to congratulate Senator Franken?
June 30th, 2009 at 9:03 PM
I guess now we can say that the Republicans are both uncompassionate AND ungracious. Does this Sutton guy have a clue? His statement sounds like something he cut-and-pasted from a January 2009 press release. All of the votes have been counted. Time to move forward.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:04 PM
Ryan, why have you deleted my comments about Brodkorb being a muppet master of Tony’s and Michael’s “gracious” work to call our senator “angry Al”?
June 30th, 2009 at 9:10 PM
Zelly,
You sound a little confused. Can’t keep track of which topic you are posting under?
June 30th, 2009 at 9:11 PM
Hey Chile,
If you haven’t noticed, the only person who was disputing ballots was Norm Coleman. And today he graciously conceded and called Senator Franken to congratulate him. It’s over. Nobody is disputing anything anymore.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:16 PM
2010, Yoda is one of danbrome’s other names. It’s all the same, sounds like a little girl calling people names on the playground.
Zelly, read post #6 and lay off the dope.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:22 PM
Dear Chile,
1. I am not Danbrome
2. If you were standing in front of me on the playground right now, you would hesitate to say that I “sound like a little girl.” It’s just easy for little weasely trolls ike you to say that as you hide behind the safety of the Internets.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:24 PM
Yoda/danbrome, you’re wrong. Thousand of people were disputing the way this electon was conducted – that really hasn’t changed.
Mark Ritchie is to blame for creating this mess, and Al Franken is to blame for fighting to keep votes from being counted.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:26 PM
Yoda=danbrome=sissy little nancy-boy.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:30 PM
So who is really doing the childish name calling like a little girl, hmmm chile? You are pitiful.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:33 PM
I just want all of you to know that I am just a scared little weakling and whenever I chat on this site I wear a pink mini skirt with lace ruffles.
June 30th, 2009 at 10:55 PM
chile, “B.S. The number of votes in dispute is several times larger than the 312 difference in the final count.” Several times 312 is still puny relative to over 2.9 million votes. In fact, I was referring to the number of challenged ballots and disputed absentees, a larger number than you thought I meant, and the number is still an incredibly small fraction. I don’t recall the number of challenged ballots, but we’re talking about at the most 1/100th of one percent of the ballots.
Besides, if the absentee balloting is so screwed up, why did Republicans stop the bill to fix it? Early voting would have avoided most absentee voting. The motor-voter opt-out and change of address updating of registration rolls would have avoided most election day registrations. Why did Republicans oppose these things and then complain it didn’t get fixed?
July 1st, 2009 at 12:12 AM
Eric, 312 votes is about 1/100th of one percent of the 2.9 million. Whatever number you’re talking about is much larger than that, but of course you are talking out of you ass.
ACORN-endorsed Ritchie has had eight months and he still hasn’t reconciled the voter roles. Don’t blame Republicans for his failures.
The devil is in the details and for that reason early voting should never be allowed because it’s an invitation to fraud.
Absentee voting needs a complete overhaul. Ritchie needs to resign.
July 1st, 2009 at 12:40 AM
You know, I love that GOPers are still crying “fraud,” even when Coleman’s own attorney said in open court that the election was conducted fairly, and that there was no fraud whatsoever.
Unless Coleman’s in on the conspiracy….
July 1st, 2009 at 12:59 AM
Feminist Fecke, when exactly did Coleman’s “own attorney” say that?
July 1st, 2009 at 9:33 AM
I am such a weasel! I normally just talk out of my azz. Don’t listen to anything I say.
July 1st, 2009 at 12:39 PM
Yoda..
I’m afraid your expose’ about chile has sent him around the bend. Not that it matters, but frankly, I think he has become unhinged.
By the way, how is the Franken win playing in your neighborhood?
July 1st, 2009 at 1:37 PM
danbrome, go ahead and post under multiple names and have a conversation with yourself.
Why are you posting under my name?
July 1st, 2009 at 2:55 PM
Come on chile… danbrome and Yoda are thousands of miles apart.
What do you gain by suggesting I am Yoda, except a failed attempt at comedy? Get a clue.
July 1st, 2009 at 3:51 PM
Anyone else notice that danbrome did not deny that he was posting as chile?
July 1st, 2009 at 4:31 PM
Chile,
“Coleman’s counsel confirmed at oral argument that Coleman makes no claim of fraud on the part of either voters or election officials.”
You really need to read the ruling at
http://www.mncourts.gov/opinions/sc/current/OPA090697-6030.pdf
So here is your chance. You can admit you were mistaken, or have this counted as further proof that you are a liar.
July 1st, 2009 at 6:18 PM
AC, did not make a legal claim for fraud – but they sure as hell didn’t make a case that there wasn’t fraud- which is what Feminist Fecke stated and I was questioning.
The question I asked remains unanswered, “Feminist Fecke, when exactly did Coleman’s “own attorney†say that?”
AC, it’s a nice day outside, you should pull your head out of your ass.
