CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN: OBAMA SPENDS $18 MILLION FOR “STIMULUS” WEBSITE

By Ryan Flynn | July 9, 2009

“For those concerned about stimulus spending, the General Services Administration sends word tonight that $18 million in additional funds are being spent to redesign the Recovery.gov Web site. The contract calls for spending $9.5 million through January, and as much as $18 million through 2014, according to the GSA press release.” (Rick Klein, $18M Being Spent to Redesign Recovery.gov Web Site,” ABC News’ “The Note” Blog, 7/8/09)

So, we already have a recovery.gov propaganda website and now we’ll spend another $18M to rebuild it? What a colossal waste of money.

to danbrome, another ‘huh?’ to you. Are the pills wearing off?

I have a friend who can probably do it for a whole lot less than $18 million. I suppose it’s too late to rebid the contract. Then again Obama is accumstom to burning money. That’s why he spent more than $600 million to win the presidency and not caring that he was taking illegal forgein donations.

Walter, Obama can’t even take his wife out for a date without costing the taxpayer hundreds of thousand of dollars.

Rebid? Who says there was a bid. Obama no doubt is rewarding his supporters with the $18M contract.

    Chile,

And as a taxpayer, how much did you pay for Bush’s 75+ vacations to his ranch down in Texas? That averages out to one trip every 5 and a half weeks. So forgive me if I don’t get upset if Obama takes ONE night off in 5 months to go out with his wife.

    AC:

Keep in mind President Bush spent most of that time down at Crawford when Congress wasn’t in session, but he still did presidential work.

Obama wants to have a date night with his wife so why not a party in the white house (they do a lot of those), or a play in Washington D.C. the Kennedy center has plays.

No it had to be New York on a Saturday night causing massive traffic problems that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. Furthermore this was a few weeks after the administration spent hundred of thousands of dollars to scare the people of New York city to fly air force one by the statue of liberty.

Hands down Obama likes to waste money!
