LIBERAL BLOGGER UNLOADS ON MATT ENTENZA; CLAIMES HE “SPIES ON POLITICAL ALLIES” AND WILL “LIE ABOUT IT”

By Ryan Flynn | July 10, 2009

Keeping up the tradition established by this blog’s founder, Michael Brodkorb, nothing warms our hearts more than DFL infighting. This edition of “DFL infighting” comes from Jeff Fecke at Blog of the Moderate Left who unloaded today on the Matt Entenza.

“I can make a case for almost any Democrat in the race. Even John Marty and Mark Dayton are decent, honorable men. They are perhaps not truly suited for the realities of the political offices they seek, but they seek the offices for noble reasons. If any of the declared or rumored DFL candidates win endorsement, barring calamity, I will support them, from Margaret Anderson Kelliher to Tom Bakk to Ole Savior.

Save one.

If Matt Entenza is the DFL nominee in 2010, I will not support him. I will not campaign for him. I will not vote for him. I will likely cast my vote for the Independence Party nominee, and hope that sanity breaks out and the GOP endorses Jim Ramstad. But even if it means that a Tim Pawlenty clone is taking the oath in January of 2011, I will not vote for Entenza.

I can not support someone who plays fast and loose with campaign finance laws, who spies even on political allies, and who then has the temerity to lie about it. Political office is a sacred trust, and if Democrats want to put forward a candidate who has chosen to break that trust, they can. But I will be damned if I will support him.” Source:  Blog of the Moderate Left, July 10, 2009

I’ll vote for him because the alternative is probably unacceptable but, that’s it.

However, a republican like Ramsted who can make Minnesotans think about less partisan fighting (won’t be true) would wipe up the floor with him.

Too bad Ramsted won’t make it through the endorsement.

Laura Brod with some message discipline could have made a good stab at it. A conservative who is not angry or condescending, she would have been tough but, I suspect she’ll be number two on the ticket or is looking ahead four years.

Wait, I thought all of the liberals just stuck to the talking points? Heaven forbid Fecke has his own opinion.

  3. Average_Joe Says:

I’ll vote for him because the alternative is probably unacceptable but, that’s it.

Thus you approve of his actions. Anyone who’d vote for someone knowing they are this slimely approves of the actions, denial or not.

  4. DJZ Says:
    July 10th, 2009 at 2:11 PM

Compared to what the republicans give us my choice could be,
Vote for the ethically challenged but for an agenda I agree with and think is best for Minnesota
    or
Vote for a Republican who will push forth an agenda that i believe is bad for Minnesota but, I may personally like them better.

Kind of the position you Republicans were in in the 2008 Presidential race.

  5. Average_Joe Says:
    July 10th, 2009 at 3:22 PM

    So much for principles.

The choices you list are not your only choices. You can choose to write someone in, vote for someone else, not vote, write in Lizzard People.

If you really didn’t believe what he’s doing is okay you’d choose something other than vote to put that kind of person in office.

  6. TJSwift Says:

So Feckless Jeffy hiked up his sundress and went home….Well, there goes Entenza’s support from the honorary uterus sporting, cowardly moonbat community.

  7. chile Says:
    July 10th, 2009 at 7:53 PM

    The best part …

“The Democratic-Farmer-Labor party is really bad at picking gubernatorial candidates.”

It’s not that the DFL is bad at “picking”, it’s that they only have bad candidates to pick from.

Something tells me that Feminist Fecke is supportng Big MAK.

  8. job10 Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 1:08 AM

djz – “…as long as they have a ‘D’ next to their name I’ll vote for them because I’m a mindless DFL robo-voter. Who cares if they lie, cheat, or steal, I only vote for democrats!!”

  9. chile Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 1:28 AM

job10, Franken* for example? Actually, that could describe most any Democrat. What’s a lemming like DJZ to do?

  10. Proud Republican Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 1:23 PM

    DJZ says
I’ll vote for him because the alternative is probably unacceptable but, that’s it.

What’s so bad about Matt Entenza?
He probably has the best chance of all to lose at the closest margin to Norm Coleman.

  11. Proud Republican Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 2:03 PM

Matt Entenza is Proud Republican’s number one choice for the Dem nomination for Governor of MN. Proud Republican says “Go Matt, Go!”

  12. DJZ Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 7:54 PM

So, I’m being taken to task for admiting that I’ll vote for the douchebag over the nice guy because the douchebag’s agenda is closer to my beliefs about government’s role than the nice guy who’s agenda may be to dismantle government until we really are as ‘free’ as Oklahoma.

Its exactly what you boners did when you voted for McCain. Most of you hated his stance on immigration, campaign finance, torture, and health care. Hell, you kicked the shit out of him in 2000. In spite of that, your twisted political beliefs were closer to his than Obamas who was certainly not the angry one in that election.

Tell you what, if its Entenza, Coleman and Ramstad as an Independent. I’m going to give the Rammer a vote.
Actually, if its Entenza versus any Republican and Jim Ramstad is in as an Independent, I’ll donate and vote for Ramsted.

  13. job10 Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 9:33 PM

DJZ is all about labels. First he’ll hold his nose and vote for Entenza just because he’s a demo, now he’ll vote for Ramstad – but only if he runs as an independent.

What happened to voting for the best candidate no matter what the party?

    You are one confused ‘puppy’.

I’m going to guess when you buy a car, house, or whatever, color is the only thing that matters.

  14. chile Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 11:29 PM

Yesterday, DJZ didn’t even know how to spell Ramstad’s name. Today he pretending to be the expert on Ramstad. DJZ, you are so full of yourself – you must feel bloated.

DJZ, be honest. You are going to vote for the candidate who will spend the most and raise taxes the most.

  15. danbrome Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 11:39 PM

    chile..

Don’t even try to criticize other posters for their spelling or grammar mistakes. You need some work in that area yourself, as well I do too.

My Dad would have referred to you as a hypocrite.

  16. job10 Says:
    July 11th, 2009 at 11:54 PM

danbrome, the self styled moderate that can’t articulate a single moderate position calls someone else a hypocrite?

DJZ and danbrome should quit trying to make people believe they won’t vote a straight DFL ticket every election.

  17. chile Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 1:12 AM

Liberal danbrome, I’m not crticizing DJZ for making he simple spelling of typing error. He has repeatedly used “Ramsted” instead of “Ramstad”. I pointed out that he finally got it right.

“Don’t even try to criticize other posters for their spelling or grammar mistakes. You need some work in that area yourself, as well I do too.”

Liberal danbrome, who on MDE criticizes spelling/grammar errors more than you? STFU you hyper-urbanistic little bitch.

What would your dad say about you, you prissy little bitch?

  18. DJZ Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 11:04 AM

I’m voting for the candidate that appeals to my agenda. Let me be clear- there is not ONE republican in this race who won’t be promising to Minnesota further into decay. Not one.

So what you should be reading is that none of your candidates are better than a RINO running as an independent or an ethics-challenged DFLer. Most voters would do the same.

See, we can count on you to nominate and elect the most conservative of the pack. You still aren’t aware that most voters are not looking for more of the same. Its the story of the last two election cycles. So, Ramstad, being in support of social service programs, would not make it through a GOP endorsement. Having a reputation as a moderate, in a three-way choice, he’d only need 40% to win.

He’ll easily take the suburbs, and the anti-Bachman wing of the Republicans. With Entenza as the last standing candidate, he’ll take a sizable number of DFLer and DFL leaning voters.

So, mock me for sticking to my issues over party and candidate, and watch your efforts continue to slip through your fingers.

  19. job10 Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 1:26 PM

DJZ – you would have loved the old days in IA. When I first started voting, they had the voting machines where you could just select a party, pull the lever and you were done. Myself – I always went through each race one by one and selected the best candidate. Maybe you should petition Ritchie to get some of those in MN.

    July 12th, 2009 at 6:36 PM

If danbrome hasn’t voted a straight DFL party ticket in the past, what makes you think he will start now? Seriously.

  22. chile Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 8:13 PM

If Liberal danbrome wants to continue to be the grammar nanny, he should quits posting in the third person.

Judges, city councilors, schoolboard members – typically don’t have ‘(DFL)’ next to their name. This allows Liberal danbrome to lie his way around beng a staight-party voter.

  23. danbrome Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 9:08 PM

Are any of these candidate judges, city councilors, or schoolboard members?

    Republican President Gerald Ford
Republican Congressman Jim Ramstad (3 times)
Republican St.Paul Mayor (Candidate for governor) Norm Coleman

    Where is the lie?

  24. chile Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 10:13 PM

Liberal danbrome, so you voted for Ford in 76, and Norm in 98. Big deal.

Ramsted: Without looking it up, tell me who his opponents were the 3 times you voted for him. (Here’s a hint, they were all no-name goofballs.)

  25. Chris Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 11:51 PM

DANBROME, STOP REFERRING TO YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON. IT’S FRIGGIN’ OBNOXIOUS!

I cannot believe that the folks who run this website let an absolute idiot like brone post here.

  26. Chris Says:
    July 12th, 2009 at 11:54 PM

    DJZ,

It’s really sad that you judge the quality of life in a state by the amount of money it spends on government programs. We heard the same kind of doom and gloom from your party six years ago when spending was curtailed and the state did not go to hell. It’s not going to decay any more this time around either.

What is going to bring us down is the $2 trillion pissed away by Obama and Congressional Democrats this year. I never hear Democrats criticize the absolute waste and incompetence of the stimulus which hasn’t worked and has actually made things worse.

  27. mitchberg Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 7:42 AM

Most of you hated his stance on immigration, campaign finance, torture, and health care

Right, and we fought like hell in the primary about it.

But as weak as Mac was, in comparison to Obama on the issues that mattered to me – the war on terror, the economy, spending – there was still no rational argument.

And, er, how is Oklahoma “less free” than Minnesota?

Or does spending equal freedom in your world?

  28. danbrome Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 1:33 PM

    chile..

    Don’t forget…

Barrack Obama, Paul Wellstone, and Al Franken were all no-name goofballs at one time.

Funny, they were all worthy of my votes too!

  29. Chris Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 1:48 PM

    dambrone,

They are all liberal Democrats too. That’s something else you have in common with them.

  30. danbrome Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 1:49 PM

Early on, I thought about voting for Former Senator Coleman again, but once Stuart Smalley won the DFL endorsement, voting for Norm became a silly idea.

  31. Chris Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 2:10 PM

Spoken like a true partisan liberal lefty, brone. Keep up the great job of discrediting yourself.

  32. job10 Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 4:43 PM

danbrome – those three; obama, wellstone, and franken are all fascists as well. Maybe not so much wellstone, but his supports are definably fascist.

  33. danbrome Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 10:26 PM

It’s a shame that the fascists are in control, and will be as long as the GOP buries it’s head in the sand.

You guys have any constructive political message, other than calling moderate Democrats like danbrome “fascists”?

Seriously, you sound like a 4th grader who is pissed off about something, and resort to labels and name calling.

I’m glad the good guys have 60 Senators, because now maybe something can get accomplished.

  34. Focused on 2010 Says:
    July 13th, 2009 at 11:11 PM

“I’m glad the good guys have 60 Senators, because now maybe something can get accomplished.”

The good news is their socialist agenda can be reversed in 2010.

  35. chile Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 12:35 AM

Liberal danbrome, you admit that you voted for Ramstad only because you had no idea who his opponents were. That’s not being “moderate”, it’s called being lazy and uninformed.

Assboy Madia: Another liberal goofball that liberal danbrome voted for.

Liberal danbrome: Another fascist who voted for Assboy Madia

  36. job10 Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 2:51 AM

danbrome says “…you sound like a 4th grader who is pissed off about something, and resort to labels and name calling”

While just 20 minutes before that your statement to Melissa was: “Get a clue you pompous fool.”

What’s it like these days in 4th grade?

  37. chile Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 6:51 AM

Liberal danbrome, your “dad would have referred to you as a hypocrite”. (And BTW, your use of “Dad”, in comment number 15 should have been “dad”. Perhaps you need to do some remedial work before you resume your role as the MDE grammar nanny)

job10 is correct. A few minutes after you make a cheap, baseless attack on a female on another thread, you post here claiming you’re the victim. Just because you feel like a little girl trapped in a man’s body, doesn’t mean you have to act like one.

  38. DJZ Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 9:58 AM

The good news is their socialist agenda can be reversed in 2010.

    Bullshit.

It would take a win of 20 seats for Republicans in the Senate in 2010.

You also need the House to be in your majority too. Or else the Senate win is worthless. There is an 80 seat lead in the House.

In 2010 there are 36 Senate seats up and I’m just curious where you see 20 seats. Show me 10 seats you think you can flip.

    Retiring Democratic Senators
Ted Kaufman of Delaware – very safe
Roland Burris of Illinois – safe

    Retiring Republican Senators
    Kit Bond of Missouri
    Sam Brownback of Kansas- safe
    Judd Gregg of New Hampshire
    Mel Martinez of Florida
    George Voinovich of Ohio

    Democratic incumbents up in 2010:

    Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas
    Barbara Boxer of California
    Michael Bennet of Colorado
    Christopher Dodd of Connecticut
    Daniel Inouye of Hawaii
    Evan Bayh of Indiana
    Barbara Mikulski of Maryland
    Harry Reid of Nevada
    Kirsten Gillibrand of New York
    Chuck Schumer of New York
    Byron Dorgan of North Dakota
    Ron Wyden of Oregon
    Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania
    Patrick Leahy of Vermont
    Patty Murray of Washington
    Russ Feingold of Wisconsin

Republican incumbents up for reelection in 2010:

    Richard Shelby of Alabama
    Lisa Murkowski of Alaska
    John McCain of Arizona
    Johnny Isakson of Georgia
    Mike Crapo of Idaho
    Chuck Grassley of Iowa
    Jim Bunning of Kentucky
    David Vitter of Louisiana
    Richard Burr of North Carolina
    Tom Coburn of Oklahoma
    im DeMint of South Carolina
    John Thune of South Dakota
    Bob Bennett of Utah

  39. Focused on 2010 Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 12:14 PM

You don’t get it DJZ. Conservatives do not need to win all the seats. Conservatives do not need to be in the majority.

Conservatives merely need to ride the wave of public discontent with the Obama administration. That wave will send a clear message to Congress that the people are not happy with the current administrations socialist agenda. Moderate and conservative Democrats will join with Republicans to reverse the destruction that Obama has laid apon the United States. They will do it to save their own sorry ass in 2012.

It is a done deal DJZ and you need to learn to adjust.

  40. danbrome Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 12:40 PM

    Focused..

With all due respect, what you fantasize is clearly NOT a “done deal”.

The minority party will likely pick up some seats, but without new leadership and a coherent message, the gains will be limited.

Can YOU suggest any GOP leaders prepared to deliver such a message? Please don’t say Tony Sutton…

  41. danbrome Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 12:42 PM

Do you disagree that Melissa’s post confirms her pompous fool status?

    Really?

  42. Focused on 2010 Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 1:04 PM

From what I see from your posts here danbrome you have no respect for anyone that you disagree with so please do not use the “With all due respect” phrase with me.

From what I have noticed about you is that you do not answer questions when challenged. Please tell me why I should respond to your questions? I much prefer to have you and your fellow hate filled left wing extremists continue down the road of ignorance that you are currently on.

Democrats make such poor losers, I can’t wait to hear the crying and whining from you all in 2010.

  43. job10 Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 3:15 PM

danbrome, I wouldn’t be able to count the number times I felt like calling you a “pompous fool”, but I’ve refrained from dropping to your 4th grade level.

At least Melissa states her opinion – we have yet (after several months of asking) to hear ONE moderate position you hold?

  44. danbrome Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 3:52 PM

“At least Melissa states her opinion”

    There you have it.

You too realize that Melissa is a pompous fool.

    Thanks!

He is not a pompous fool job10. He is an idiot in the true sense of the word.

Does danbrome always attack women this way? Is there something I don’t know about this person but should?

  46. job10 Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 5:45 PM

  47. Focused on 2010 Says:

    How so DJZ?

  49. chile Says:
    July 14th, 2009 at 10:13 PM

    Melissa asks:

“Then how come he REFUSES to support that amendment against flag burning that the American Legion endorses?”

    Liberal danbrome responds:

“Maybe you haven’t heard, but burning the American flag just happens to be a right protected by the Constitution. Ask any member of the United States Supreme Court for details. Maybe they can get it through your thick skull. THAT is a true no-brainer. Get a clue you pompous fool.”

Liberal danbrom, Constitutional Amendments are by definition Constitutional. Ask any member of the Supreme Court for details.

Melissa knows more about the Constitution than danbrome. Ship it!

    Liberal danbrome: Pompous fool

  50. DJZ Says:
    July 15th, 2009 at 3:19 AM

I ask again and will continue on another thread, with the leads Democrats now have, and the seats that are up for grabs, find me 20 seats the GOP can pick.

With almost and 80 seat lead in House, you can forget about taking that back.

Focused on 2010 needs to change his name. At the very best, the republicans remove the filibuster proof number on the Senate side. That does nothing to reverse anything we’ll finish passing by next spring. Even if the GOP win 15 Senate seats and take a five seat majority, what can you do? Nothing. Dems can filibuster everytime they try to reverse some of the good for America legislation we pass this year. Besides, Nancy and House will crush the legislation anyway.

Better change that to Focused 2014.

Its takes a majority in both houses of Congress AND the Presidency to make real change or undue the damage of the previous administration.

    Good luck

  51. chile Says:
    July 15th, 2009 at 9:36 AM

DJZ, after 2010, Pelosi will be out on her ass as Speaker.

“Its takes a majority in both houses of Congress AND the Presidency to make real change”

By change you mean socialism don’t you?

For the democrats left standing after 2010, there is going to be a real wake-up call.

“Its takes a majority in both houses of Congress AND the Presidency to make real change or undue the damage of the previous administration.”

Nice to see DJZ agrees that the Democrats are doing damage. He mistakenly believes it can’t be corrected with out a majority in Congress and the Presidency but thats ok. It just makes the job that much easier.

For some reason, despite all the evidence to the contrary, DJZ still believes that people voted for what the Democrats are doing. That is far from the truth. The people voted against the Republican’s because they were spending just like the Democrats and the Democrats promised to be fiscally responsible. Everyone except the far left (which is blinded by their hatred) is seeing through the Democrat lies and will rebel in 2010.

DJZ knows that he is fighting a losing battle but is afraid to let go because it means that the policies of the far left are being rejected by the American people.

  53. DJZ Says:
    July 15th, 2009 at 11:37 AM

You two hillbillies want to describe how you are going to win enough seats to do anything in 2011?

Like Reagan and Roosevelt, we’ll have everything done by the end of 2010, at least the big stuff.

You do understand that without a President, majority in the House and filibuster proof Senate, you won’t be overturning or even passing anything?

You will never win back Congress in one session from our Supermajority by the way.

You are talking about historical and statistically accomplishments that your racist wishy washy party cannot do with only a majority of supporters in the south and uneducated.

Not gonna happen but, whatever keeps you getting out of the bed everyday.

  54. Focused on 2010 Says:

Keep telling yourself that its “Not gonna happen”. It does not bother me that you want to remain fat, dumb, and blind.

Oh, I forgot to mention you may remain ignorant as well.

    Have a nice day DJZ.

You shills have done nothing but, call names and ignore supporting statements. Its like talking to Jeff Sessions- just like talking to him.

You even took a name that means nothing Focused. As I have pointed out by providing, the names and the numbers and elections for 2010, its virtually impossible to reverse anything. The 112 Congress is not even called into session until 2011.

1.Once again for the 55 year old paperboy, where do you see the Republican chances to turn over 20 seats in the Senate in one cycle (2010)?

2.Where do you see 41 Democratic seats in the House that you can turn over?

3.And finally, how will you get the President to reverse his legislation he’ll sign into law?

None of those three things are going to happen. The republicans aren’t even giving people something to vote for. They only say vote against what we already voted for in vast numbers.

Our legislation is going to be around for long time ushering America into new and better times an you’ll find yourself on the wrong side of history once again.

No need to worry though, as you’ve demonstrated, Republicans are more than willing to bend history in their favor. Like Clinton had nothing to do with the prosperity of the 1990′s, or the Republicans had nothing to do with the economic meltdown and irresponsible bailouts, or Reagan did not have a higher unemployment in his second and third year than we have right now, or the Republicans are the party of family values and national security. All lies.

So, as I have watched the foot in mouth Curly Howard swim move performed in 2006 and 2008 by the conservatives on this board, I will again watch the same dance of frustration in 2010 and 2012 at least.

What DJZ is saying is that Democrats are going to be in complete control for another 18 months and therefore they must act quickly to as much damage to the country as possible.

What DJZ does not understand is that many Democrats in Congress will begin voting against Obama’s socialist agenda as Obama’s poll numbers continue to fall.

Once again DJZ, we do not need to elect a majority in 2010, just enough to scare the crap out of Democrats coming up for election in 2012. Not all the Democrats in Congress are far left socialist’s and they will stop the destruction of the Obama administration.

It is difficult to discuss this with you when you can’t comprehend what I am saying DJZ. If you still don’t understand what I am saying let me know and I will have my 7 year old grandson put it in words you can understand.

No prob, I’ve been using my seven year old son to decipher your writings from the beginning.

I don’t know how old you are but, I’m starting to feel a little remorse of my aggressiveness toward you. War Vet and grandfather? I’ll mark my tone with you from this point on. You’ve earned it. (does not mean I will change my positions)

No need to change your tone DJZ. I would prefer your true personality over a pretend one.

Now, do you have an update now that you understand my position? Or is your son at Head Start for the day?

Why would my son be in Head Start?

Its an an excellent program for children of the poor. By seven your child should probably be at least two years out.

Typical, you shit on a program that you know nothing about.

DJZ how can you claim I know nothing about Head Start? My wife used to work at Head Start.

I did not shit on the program, I shit on you.

Does your ego not allow you to understand that someone might insult you?

    Holy Shit Batboma!

One more note on Head Start. When I said my wife worked there it was as a volunteer.

Have you or your wife every worked at Head Start as a volunteer or do expect the goverment to just take care of it so you don’t have to get your hands dirty?
