LTE IN RED WING REPUBLICAN EAGLE: “DFLERS ENGAGE IN PREDICTABLE SCARE TACTICS”

By Ryan Flynn | July 10, 2009

“I had to chuckle after reading Steve Murphy’s comments on Governor Pawlenty’s balancing of the state budget (R-E, July 3). Basically, the DFL-led Legislature challenged the governor to a game of chicken over who gets to spend the money you earn, you or the government. DFL Legislators lost.

Now they want a “do over.”

What would Murphy and company do in a special session they did not have the opportunity to do during the four-month regular session, especially since the governor made it clear he would not sign any tax increase?

Steve, why is it that when the DFL is forced to reduce government budgets, they always start with public safety?” Source: Red Wing Republican Eagle, July 10, 2009.
