MUST READ FROM THE PIONEER PRESS: “GOP TAKES AIM AT COLEMAN, RYBAK”

By Aaron Cocking | September 29, 2009

“Minnesota Republican Party leaders filed a complaint Monday against Democratic mayors Chris Coleman of St. Paul and R.T. Rybak of Minneapolis, accusing them of spending campaign re-election money on what they say are campaigns for governor.

In a filing with the state Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board, state GOP Chairman Tony Sutton and deputy chairman Michael Brodkorb charged that some of the money Coleman and Rybak are spending on travel is clearly intended to help them win the Democratic-Farmer-Labor gubernatorial nomination. They argued the mayors have exceeded the $100 threshold that would require them to file campaign reports with the board.” Source: Pioneer Press, September 29, 2009
