UPDATE ON CD6 DFL RACE
By Luke Hellier | October 14, 2009
In case anyone missed it, late last week Dr. Maureen Reed decided that she will forgo the DFL endorsement process and run in the primary against Big City Liberal Tarryl Clark.
Nothing warms my heart more than Democrats clawing at each other all summer long. Â Many will say that Reed is not a relevant candidate but I point to the recent fundraising numbers by both Clark and Reed.
Clark has raised $308,000 year to date while Reed has raised $360,000 since the campaign has begun.  While Reed has raised considerably more than Clark her numbers only reflect a single quarter worth of fundraising.  However, the bigger news is that even after all that time Reed and Clark are virtually tied for cash on hand.
Full reports were due to the FEC today and I will have more information later this week on where both candidates received their funds.
FLASHBACK
And just for the fun of it from the MDE Archives Tax and Spend Liberal Tarryl Clark at her best:
If you feel so inclined, Rep. Bachmann is having a fundraising drive today to Send a Message to the Left that she is here to stay.  Over $60,000 (Or to those math nerds 20% of what Clark raised in the last 3 months) has been raised since this morning.

From today’s New York Times:
“In Minnesota, some believe the national attention around Ms. Bachmann may hint at hopes for a higher office. When Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced he would not seek re-election, some analysts suggested Ms. Bachmann might run, but questioned whether her positions were too conservative to win statewide.”
Has she filed for a campaign committee?

From the October 1st City Pages:
CP: ‘Hey, RT.’ RT: ‘Hi. I’m RT Rybak. How’s it going?’ CP: ‘Good man. How’s it going today?’ RT: ‘Oh you know, running for mayor, running for governor… busy.’â€

Maybe Michelle and RT could have their own forum as candidates for a higher office that they just haven’t specified at the moment.

Hiram, so besides Mayor and Governor, RT is seeking a third office. Do tell!

Ahhh, to be a Republican in this modern world. I can’t believe MDE is actually reporting that Democrats running against each other in a primary is indicative of some inner tension in the party. It’s a democratic process and that’s that.
Meanwhile, 30 Senators (all Republicans) voted against Al Franken’s amendment to protect rape victims. Not only that, but Franken is also extremely vocal on the issue of net neutrality, therefore: by the end of this year alone, your free speech on the internet may be saved by Democrats. The health care bill they pass could save your life. The Franken Amendment, just passed, could prevent sexual assault from becoming an even bigger problem.
MDE said: “Nothing warms my heart more than Democrats clawing at each other all summer long”
Really? Because nothing warms my heart like giving all Americans equal rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. At least you’re willing to admit that you don’t actually care about the issues. It’s great that you finally came out and basically said: “we don’t even believe this, we’ll lie about ANYTHING to make Democrats look bad just because they’re Democrats.”
You guys can keep talking about how evil it is to run for local political offices and provide sick people with quality care that won’t bankrupt them. However, I think that at this point, it should be clear even to the faithful elite of this blog that the Republican party in Minnesota and elsewhere has no agenda at this point except to start a fire in this country and then blame the liberals for letting them set the fire. And the fire won’t be put out because fire fighters are socialists. They can put out France’s fires.

Do tell!
I don’t know. What do his signs say?

Moonbatgreen: Franken had a rape amendment? What’s the punchline?
October 15th, 2009 at 11:22 PM
Mondo – and so the point is?
…just what does Franken’s rape amendment and French fire fighters have to do with Dr. Maureen Reed and Tarryl Clark?

Job: I’ll tell you what Franken’s “rape amendment” has to do with Tarryl Clark. MDE is constantly pushing these stories that are pretty clearly lies in retrospect. The idea that Franken thought rape was funny and he objectifies women? Absolutely ridiculous. And he hates America, too, as long as you don’t think too hard or “research” “facts.” MDE doesn’t report the real news or important current event because reality has been proven to have a liberal bias.
This blog is dedicated to “exposing” Democrats. I understand that and I don’t have a problem with that. But this blog isn’t actually about exposing Democrats. It’s about distracting the conservative base so that hatred will inspire them to get out the vote, organize, and participate in a system that depends on misinformation to inspire blind allegiance.
Fear will put you to sleep. But I’m not really talking to the other posters here. I’m talking to MDE’s admin and Brodkorb or whoever is in control here: it’s time to stop. Either go national with the Democrats you “expose” or start talking about real issues that face us. Minnesota Democrats aren’t anybody’s problem right now, but the fear and hatred that MDE inspires could be our biggest problem. Once again, to the folks at MDE, you’re not stupid, so therefore you know that mainstream media and blogging has had a profound effect on our current ignorance. If you don’t mind encouraging stupidity in order to use people for your own benefit, I’d almost be relieved, because that means you’re every bit as horrible as you’ve been acting for the last year.

“And ‘I give the pills to Lesley Stahl. Then when Lesley’s passed out, I take her to the closet and rape her.’ Or `That’s why you never see Lesley until February.’ Or, `When she passes out I put her in various positions and take pictures of her.” – Al Franken*

Moonbatgreen says: “Either go national with the Democrats you “expose†or start talking about real issues that face us.”
How does one take a blog “national” Isn’t most of the nation connected to the grid by now?
For a blog, MDE has enjoyed quite a bit of coverage from the national media. Remeber when Franken* failed to pay taxes in 17 states, and failed to carry work comp on his employees. If you have doubts about that, research it for yourself: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2008/05/01/accountants/#
Moobat, it’s funny you’d pick Franken as your the poster boy for in your niceity crusade. Franken has written a number of books dedicated to personal character attacks. Before leaving to run for Senate, Franken* spend 2-1/2 years on the radio spreading his hate for America.
