REPUBLICAN PARTY OF MN STATEMENT ON KELLEY ANNOUNCEMENT
By Luke Hellier | October 19, 2009
St. Paul- Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Tony Sutton issued the following statement today regarding Steve Kelley’s announcement that he will run for governor.
“Steve Kelley considers himself the ‘education candidate’ but his voting record shows the opposite. Instead of spending precious resources on Minnesota schools, Kelley voted to spend millions of taxpayer dollars to build a major league baseball stadium. When he had a chance to repeal the disastrous Profile of Learning standards, he showed up late for session and voted to keep the standards in place. If Kelley puts baseball before schools, accepts tardiness and low standards for learning, it’s time for this ‘education candidate’ to hit the books.â€
