DFLer ENTERS RACE AGAINST KLINE
By Luke Hellier | October 25, 2009
This story from Tom Scheck over at MPR Politics local DFLer Dan Powers is entering the race for congress against Congressman John Kline in the Second Congressional District. Â Dan Powers, who doesn’t have much on his campaign website has some bold statements listed on a Facebook event page.
Dan Powers, when elected, will stand with President Obama and enact the priorities voters overwhelmingly approved nationwide last year. Dan will fight for the first-class health care system we so desperately need, give teachers the power they need to allow our next generation to achieve in the classroom, and turn our economy around towards prosperity.
Well Mr. Powers is off to a fast start to helping Kline win re-election.  President Obama did win the election in 2008 by a decidable margin but failed to win the Second Congressional District which Powers intends on representing.
And the best part of all is that Dan Powers supports socialized medicine. Â On a Twitter entry from April, Powers had this to say:
Single payer health care is sounding better and better.
Not only does Dan Powers wish to be another rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi and President Obama, he wants to force all Americans to adopt a Canadian style Healthcare System.  This should be an interesting campaign to watch.

I wonder what Dan thinks is overwhelming. Barrack O. won with about 53 or 54% of the vote. Minnesota went 56-42. Not exactly overwhelming. Furthermore if Dan cares about freeing teachers he needs to run for local school board or maybe state government since that is where real control of teachers are suppose to be at.
He’s off to a fast start since he can’t do math, he doesn’t understand the constitution, and he actually thinks countries like Canada and England have better medical care than the United States.

Walter..
Winning an election 56-42 is not exactly overwhelming? You are just kidding, right?
Shows you know nothing about elective politics. What a clown!

Dan:
Very funny.
A couple of simple points on this. On Sunday the Pittsburg Steelers beat the Vikings by the score 27 – 17. By the score it’s obvious that the Steelers must have totally dominated the Vikings. The reality is a blown call by the referee or one less turn over the Vikings could’ve easily won that game.
The election of Obama was a lot closer than the margin which Dan was saying overwhelming.
Al Franken only got 40% of the vote. It was overwhelming that 60% of the state didn’t want him to be our senator so according to your logic Franken should immediately resign so we can get a new senator who has overwhelming support from the state.
Furthermore if you want to call 56 overwhelming didn’t Kline win by a similar margin or more. so hasn’t the district already sent an overwhelming message that they want Kline to represent their interests and not the things that Dan wants to vote for.

[...] In Minnesota’s Second Congressional District, Dan Powers has announced his candidacy against Rep. John Kline.  Powers, if you remember is a supporter of socialized medicine. [...]
