YEAR BEFORE ELECTION CLARK GOES NEGATIVE, ATTACKS BACHMANN’S FAMILY
By Luke Hellier | November 11, 2009
A little less than a year before the election and State Senator Tarryl Clark is already going negative. Â In a piece in yesterday’s The Daily Beast, Sen. Clark was profiled along with Maureen Reed as opponents of Congresswoman Bachmann.
While the story was outright wrong on the author’s view of the Sixth District, the most disturbing part was that Clark took a strong negative tone. Â She said that the difference between her and Congresswoman Bachmann is that she is proud of her son, while Congresswoman Bachmann is not proud of her children.
Clark: “We have three things in common: We’re women, moms, and we both have sons in AmeriCorps,†Clark said. “The difference is I’m proud of mine…”
I am surprised that Clark would take such a negative tone before the campaign has really even begun. Â I would assume this is the tactic that the Democrats and Clark will use against Bachmann come next fall; To be as negative as possible.
Democrats and Republicans alike should call on Clark to apologize for saying that Congresswoman Bachmann is not proud of her son.

I’ve heard Michelle Bachman talk on the radio more than once how she’s adopted something like over twenty kids. I’ve never heard her bad mouth them. She loves them all. This is bull.
I think the comment is aimed that Michelle Bachman doesn’t like the program Americorps and wants to cut and destroy it. I think that is a lie also.

Oh poor Michelle.
Clark is hitting the exact correct tone here. Just over the top enough to focus on Bachmann’s hypocrisy.
This campaign is going to have lots and lots of these little moments. With the image of Michelle of the slightly batty aunt whose heart is in the right place transformed into the batty aunt who nobody really wants to talk about.

Jude that is a very classless thing to write. You have the right to say that you don’t like what Michelle Bachman stands for and want her defeated, but it’s totally classless and the wrong tone for you to say that Michelle Bachman doesn’t love her son.
And you said it because you endorsed the comment. At least Clark in the article was responding to what she thought about Bachmann having a son in a government program that Bachmann doesn’t like.
I have a very inapproiate comment I thought of making, but I’m stopping here.

Negative attacks have no place in our election process.
I just wish Michelle would knock it off.

Dan:
This was Clark’s classless comment. Why didn’t you write “I just wish Clark would knock it off”
Oh I forgot you endorse that negative comment by Clark.

Walter..
With all due respect, I do not endorse negative campaigns from ANY side. Seriously.

damnbrone,
You are a meathead and an ass. I don’t agree with everyone Michele Bachmann says or does, but I surely don’t remember her attacking her opponents’ family members. It’s sad that you would buy into Clark’s negative personal attacks.

Expecting liberals to show any degree of fairness, right or wrong, or demonstrate even the smallest degree of having a conscience is clearly asking too much. They don’t care about anything but winning, at all costs, no matter what they have to do or say. I see no other way to explain extremists like Danbrome or June.

Hey Jude,
Well at least Michele Bachmann never beat her children.
Two can play your little game.

Walter
Where did I or Tarryl ever say Bachmann didn’t love her son?
Chile
I’m not opposed to a judicious spanking.
But, I’m merely pointing out just what kind of campaign you are going to see.
What did Clark’s little dig actually do? It drew attention to a not unpopular program that Michelle opposes. That of course is the strategy. Force Michelle to run on her actual views. Force her to defend them and so continue to remind the voters just how extreme they are. Invite the Tea Baggers to come to her defense. Pare her to her base.
I would point out that Bachmann’s district went for Klobuchar and that Michelle didn’t get 50% last time.
November 11th, 2009 at 4:39 PM
Jude, I’m not sure why you directed you comment at me, but I’m not opposed to spanking either. What is a judicious spanking … when the judge orders it?
Is Clark really proud of all he children? Even the one’s she aborted?
November 11th, 2009 at 4:54 PM
Jude:
Read the part in red. That implies that Michelle Bachmann doesn’t love her son.
You then attacked Michelle Bachman and didn’t say anything bad about Clark.
When I call you on it you then lie.
As for issues that will be great.
Clark is in favor of the government adding to it’s out of control spending. Are you aware that in his first year of office Obama has extended the national debt by $2.5 trillon dollars. No wonder why they want to do all those tax increases.
A good Mom by the way has to say no to the kids when they ask for things which the family can’t afford. In this case Michelle Bachmann is demonstrating she’s doing a better job of being a mom than Clark.
Lets see Al Franken got way less than 50%. I assume you’ll agree with me then that Al Franken doesn’t deserve to be our United Senator and should immediately resign then since he doesn’t deserve his office according to your logic.

Dan read your post #4. You attacked Michelle Bachman even though the comment was made by the democrat.
Once again if you believe what you practice your comment should’ve been:
“Terryl knock it off!”
But you didn’t.
That means you’re a lying liberal democrat.
How about you only post here when you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

In case you missed it..
Negative attacks have no place in our election process.
I just wish Michelle would knock it off.
November 11th, 2009 at 5:40 PM
damnbrone,
Name one negative attack by Congresswoman Bachmann against Tarryl Clark?
By the way, moron, it’s Michele not Michelle. And it was Senator Clark who said Michele didn’t love her son — not the other way around.
When it comes to being a brainwashed meathead I wish damnbrone would knock it off.

Sorry I was going to respond to you when Chris’ comment caught my eye and I didn’t catch my mistake.
“What is a judicious spanking” after a fair hearing
Walter
When a son bullies a sister to tears a mother is not proud of him, and doesn’t stop loving him.
The deficit projection for the just past fiscal year was $1.2 trillion before Obama and the actual was $1.4 after Obama. It usually takes a little while for a Democratic president to clear up the mess left by the Republican. And they are not always fully successful. Because usually the mess is bigger then anyone suspects.
Talk all you want about to much government candy. But when push comes to shove it usually turns out not to be candy, but fruit that supplies the vitamins and minerals required for a healthy nation.
November 11th, 2009 at 7:01 PM
Jude,
Just who was in control of Congress and the purse strings when our deficit was $1.2 trillion before Obama?
Actually, if you include the stimulus bill (which was not part of the actual budget), the deficit is $2 trillion.
November 11th, 2009 at 9:33 PM
Right Jude, fruit born by tax cuts, not by Obama increasing the deficit. “And they`re not always successful.” Lowering the bar already, are we?
November 11th, 2009 at 11:47 PM
Jude:
I live in the country called the United States of America. Our current Democrat leadership is giving out what you refer to as candy and is doing out of control spending.
Their stimlus plan they told us if we adopted it we can stop unemployment from hitting 8%. It just hit 10.2%. They lied or clearly showed they didn’t know what they were doing. Joe Biden recently said that the stimlus was working beyond his wildest dreams. What? Unless he was referring to what he thought was his nightmare of it not working.
And Terryl wants to support Obama and Bidden to make things even worse. Mom’s are also suppose to stop their children from overeating and being fat. That is what Democrats are trying to do.
Jude read what I’ve written a bit carefully. I said the national debt has gone up by 2.5 trillion. Keep in mind the way the government does their books people who worked for Enron were found guilty of crimes of less conduct. But a democratally controlled Congress approved that spending. Most of the time Bachman was voting no saying it was too much.
And I think there is a much bigger gap since Bush or Mccain wouldn’t have proposed the useless stimlus package of almost one trillon dollars.
So Jude I hate to say it since you don’t seem to know what reality is I was wondering where this dream world you’re talking about is located.
A rational person would’ve found Terryl’s comment offensive and not support it. A rational person will also be supporting Michelle Bachmann and not Terryl Clark.

Dan:
Once again it was Terryl Clark who thought Bachmann wasn’t proud of her son.
That is a negative attack by Terryl Clark and not Bachmann.
So why did you tell Bachman to knock it off.
You should be demanding and so far you haven’t at least two times that Terryl Clark should apologize for negative campaign tatic.

Any politician who engages in negative attacks against their opponent should apologize for it.
That goes for Michele, Tarryl, and most definitely Erik Paulsen.

danbrome, where is Assboy Madia living these days?
