MNGOP PRESS RELEASE ON TARRYL CLARK’S ATTACK ON REP. BACHMANN
By Luke Hellier | November 12, 2009
Tarryl Clark Hits New Low In Attack On Rep. Bachmann’s Family
St. Paul- Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Tony Sutton today issued the following statement regarding Tarryl Clark’s attack on Rep. Michele Bachmann’s family. During an interview with The Daily Beast, Clark claimed Rep. Bachmann was not “proud” of her own son.
“Tarryl Clark doesn’t get it. The families of politicians are off limits. By referencing Rep. Bachmann’s son during a gratuitous personal attack, Clark has gone beyond the pale. The voters of central Minnesota won’t vote for a candidate who doesn’t understand that bringing the child of any politician into a political attack is always unacceptable.”
Tarryl Clark Attacks Rep. Bachmann’s Family:
“‘We have three things in common: We’re women, moms, and we both have sons in AmeriCorps,’ Clark said. ‘The difference is I’m proud of mine and we should be proud of our young adults giving something to the community.’” (Benjamin Sarlin, “Bringing Down Bachmann,†The Daily Beast, November 6, 2009)

I’m so grateful that Republicans would never launch a negative attack against a Democrat. To a person, Republicans would reject such a tactic to win political points.
For the record I repeat:
danbrome opposes any negative political attack to the extent that it is untrue. Every time, no matter who launched it.

The comment made by Tarryl Clark was not a “gratutitous” attack on Bachmann’s family.
Tarryl Clark’s comment was made in reference to an asinine comment Michele Bachmann made earlier this year about AmeriCorps being nothing short of “re-education camps for youth to push a particular political agenda.” It turned out that Bachmann’s son, Harrison, had joined AmeriCorps well after the comment was made. Good for him!!!
Perhaps Bachmann isn’t proud of her son for wanting to give back something to the community lest he be brainwashed to be open minded to the needs of a community.

Regarding AmeriCorps…
“During an appearance of the Sue Jeffers show, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) claimed that the recent expansion the Americorps program is a dream comes true for those who want to rid America of capitalism because the Americorps program is really reeducation camps for young people.”
Americorps is a national service program open to people of all ages. Here are some of things that Americorps members do, tutor and mentor disadvantaged youth , fight illiteracy, improve health services, build affordable housing, teach computer skills , clean parks and streams, manage or operate after-school programs, help communities respond to disasters, build organizational capacity.
Yeah! This is a prime example of “re-education camps” and “ridding America of Capitalism” all right!
Good on Tarryl.

Come on wake up, this line of attack is as stupid as the Angry Al ad turned out to be.
Pushing this only highlights one of Michele’s more stupid comments.

For the record..
Senator Al Franken is hardly “angry”. He recently won a 6 year term to serve as our United States Senator, and is grateful to all the Minnesota voters who showed confidence in his leadership with their votes.

For the record … The courts decided that Al Franken* won a 5 1/2 year term.
If Al isn’t angry, why does he keep voting to raise everyone’s taxes? Is it that he’s just mean?

chile..
I almost hate to ask, but do you think Former Senator Coleman won the election?
November 13th, 2009 at 5:52 PM
Liberal danbrome … The courts decided that Al Franken* WON a 5 1/2 year term. This means that Norm Coleman LOST the election.

Not sure why that was posted twice. Perhaps it’s God’s way of getting liberal danbrome to stop asking stupid questions.

Danbronme:
We can’t honestly answer that question you asked in number seven. Mark Ritchie counted ballots that didn’t exist (remember Minneapolis), credible evidence showed that there were some absteen ballots being counted twice and not dealt with, after the election was held some absteen ballots were counted that were rejected while other ballots that were perfectly valid under the new standard were being rejected or not counted (at least one Franken observer used his rejection power to have a ballot rejected because based on the name of the witness the Franken ovserver knew it was a Coleman vote), and because Mark Ritchie and people like Freeman in Hennepin won’t conduct investigations we don’t know how many hundred if thousands of ACRON votes were made.
The Democrats did a better job of getting the last couple of votes they needed to push Franken over the top.
Furthermore if Franken is greatful to all Minnesota voters he’ll remember that for every two people that voted for him three people weren’t voting for the agenda that he is OBAMA’S BRAIN DEAD VOTER IN THE SENATE FOR. If he really respected all the voters he will be opposing Obama when is wrong. I do believe that was one of his criticisms of Senator Coleman.

It’s amazing how a thread with a sensational headline about a so-called attack on Michele Bachmann’s family, turns to Senator Al Franken.
November 14th, 2009 at 11:24 AM
I would just leave the comment that I left on the other thread about Clark and Bachmann and that comment is: at least Michele Bachmann doesn’t beat her children.
November 16th, 2009 at 2:26 PM
Walter..
Come on.. man up, admit defeat, and move on.
It’s laughable how you suggest we don’t know who won the election. You aren’t really that naive, are you?
Maybe next time, your boy will win in a close finish. For now, Al Franken is your United States Senator.
November 26th, 2009 at 1:45 AM
Michele Bachmann may not beat her children.
But when she makes an asinine comment about a project that helps other people, which is the Christian thing to do, Bachmann should recognize the effort as such.
