MR. 38%* HAL KIMBALL TAKES ANOTHER RUN
By Luke Hellier | December 10, 2009
DFL Blogger and failed Senate Candidate Hal Kimball has decided to take another shot at Senate District 18. In 2006, Hal received a mere 38% of the vote in (*And that’s after I rounded up) what was a banner year for the DFL.
Kimball who claimed on Twitter earlier today that he’s ‘in it to win it’ has an up hill battle. Tim Pawlenty carried this district with 56% and Congresswoman Bachmann received 52%. Needless to say this is a Republican district.
Other liberal bloggers have already jumped on the bandwagon:

Hal Kimball is back for another race for the State Senate.Kimball ran previously for the seat in 2006, losing to moderate Republican incumbent Steve Dille. The district is located west of the Metro, around Cokato, Dassel, and Annandale, and is a pretty wide swath of ground to cover with doorknocking.
Of course, since the 2006 race, Hal has become a valued part of the blogosphere, talking up political (and especially veterans’) issues at Blue Man, Red District.
I touched base with Kimball this morning, and he said he expects a clear road to the DFL’s endorsement. With several Republican candidates clawing their way into their party’s endorsement contest, it could be a clear path for Kimball to get a head start knocking on doors early next year.
Dedicated readers of MDE will also remember that Kimball is known for jumping the gun and not thoroughly looking into his research.
