HOW CONNECTED IS COLLIN PETERSON TO THE 7TH DISTRICT?
By Luke Hellier | December 16, 2009
Yesterday, Congressman Collin Peterson responded to our post and other media outlets about his possible retirement. Politics in Minnesota reported that in fact Peterson was hosting a fundraiser for his congressional committee that day at the Democratic National Committee Headquarters. Seems pretty standard.
However, I found it quite interesting that checks can be made out to Peterson for Congress at an address not listed in Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District. In fact, the address isn’t even in Minnesota. The address is listed as:
236 Massachusetts Ave. NE Suite 602, Washington. DC 2002

According to Peterson’s campaign website his political mailing address is:
Peterson for Congress Committee
PO BOX 265
Detroit Lakes, MN 56502
Detroit Lakes is a long ways away from Washington, DC.
Just to make sure this wasn’t a one time mistake I took a look back at some other records and found events with the same address:

http://politicalpartytime.org/party/11873/
http://politicalpartytime.org/party/7523/
http://politicalpartytime.org/party/2048/
While Peterson is lecturing DC types about knowing the 7th, one must wonder how well Peterson knows about the district. According to Peterson, about 25% of his constituents are crazy anyway.
