UPDATED:BACHMANN LEADS TAXIN’ TARRYL CLARK BY 18%

By Luke Hellier | December 22, 2009

Tom Scheck from Minnesota Public Radio is reporting that Rep. Michele Bachmann is leading State Senator Tarryl Clark by 18% points.  The full story is here.

Below is a snap shot:

Public Policy Polling (a Democratic affiliated pollster) says GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann is leading her DFL opponents in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District. The pollster also said Bachmann’s standing is pretty solid at this point. “In what’s shaping up to be a Republican year Bachmann’s reelection looks pretty likely,” pollster Tom Jensen said. Here’s the meat of the poll from PPP:

Tested against her potential 2010 opponents Bachmann leads Tarryl Clark 55-37 and Maureen Reed 53-37.

UPDATE: What’s even more interesting is that the St. Cloud Times is reporting that even with such little name identification her unfavorable rating is already 20%.  For a State Senator from St. Cloud that is a  terribly high number that will greatly impact her race against Rep. Bachmann next year.  Look for Bachmann to sail to another victory in 2010.

UPDATE #2: You can read the full Public Policy Polling results here.

Wow! This is great news. If you believe that Michelle Bachmann deserves to lose because she was opposing health care won’t she be losing already?

If you believe that Michelle Bachmann deserves to lose because she doesn’t care about the poor won’t she be losing already?

If Michelle Bachmann wasn’t doing her job won’t her number be less than 50% like her vote total last year?

It looks like that Michelle is going to cruise to her easiest victory yet. The question is how big will the margin be.

    Walter…

If you think you can draw any conclusions at this point, you are truly a fool.

I suppose you also thought Senator Al Franken would get smoked too, right?

    Dan:

First of all Norm Coleman won through election day despite all the dirty tricks that Al threw at him. It took Mark Ritchie breaking his oath of office and Al’s lawyers to defeat Coleman not Franken the candidate. Not to mention Franken the candidate ended up with less of a percentage of the vote than either Reed or Clark is polling.

Second, Michelle has already been attacked far worse than Norm Coleman ever was and she has survived it. She became public enemy number one because MSNBC blew up one thing she said.

Third, a couple of reasons why Coleman failed to run away from Franken and have the easy victory he should have was that a lot of Republicans weren’t happy how he was willing to help the left (extra spending, supporting illegal aliens getting citizenship etc.) Bachmann doesn’t have that problem because she’s doing what Republicans want. Furthermore there was an ethusiasm gap which the democrats won. Trust me in 2010 the Republicans have that on their side not the democrats.

Bachmann is going to win by 10% or more this year compared with the 3% she won by in 2008.

Yes, sure Walter. As sure as people will start reading MDE again. Not bloody likely.

DJZ why are you here then? Bachman has an easy win coming which is why you’re so upset.
