MORE ANGRY AL
By Luke Hellier | December 27, 2009
Yet another article about Al Franken’s embarrassing behavior as Minnesota’s junior senator. This time from the Washington Times:
When Sen. Al Franken, Minnesota Democrat, was a comedian, he was never that funny. Take the title of his book “Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot” – that’s some high-quality humor there. Clever, daring and yet so second grade. But when Minnesotans elected him to the Senate, Mr. Franken promised that those days were behind him and that he would work hard to win over his colleagues. So far, his presence in the Senate is making it a less civil place. If the old Mr. Franken were to write a book about it, the title might be “Al Franken Is a Dirty Rotten Liar.”
Twice recently, Mr. Franken’s obnoxiousness was on public display. On Dec. 14, after having missed most of a talk by Sen. John Thune, Mr. Franken tore into him, time after time accusing the South Dakota Republican of being dishonest by claiming that the Senate bill would hike taxes immediately while delaying the “spending benefits.”
“We are entitled to our own opinions. We’re not entitled to our own facts,” Mr. Franken repeated ad nauseam. However, the Senate newbie didn’t have a clue what he was talking about.
What justified all of Mr. Franken’s yelling and boorish behavior? What evidence did Mr. Franken have that Mr. Thune was wrong? His first example is a regulation that starts immediately: a ban on insurance companies imposing lifetime limits on benefits. Mr. Franken doesn’t understand the difference between government spending and the government forcing businesses to spend money.

Granted, Moonies are much nicer than Al.

I’m not sure if the Washington Times is pretending to not understand – or really doesn’t understand – the government policies Franken addresses in the Senate, or the contents between the covers of the book mentioned in their editorial.
But one thing seems very clear, Luke Hellier considers the Washington Times to be a news source.

Liberals will say or do anything to defend their own, even in the face of nine angles of video showing the shooter pulling the trigger.
After all, liberals have no conscience.

Seems to me the Washington Times clearly understands what Franken* is all about.
“Seems very clear” – does that mean not really clear, but, then again, maybe it is? I’m unclear as to what you really mean there Mr. ED.

Liberals like Ed get the panties in a bunch whenever someone cites a news source that is anything right of the Huffington Post.

But then again, Ed looks like Barney Frank’s effeminate twin brother …

Clearly Al Franken does not even pretend to represent all Minnesotans. Al is as shrill as they come and a true embarassment to our state. A lot of Republicans took a pretty dim view of Hillary Clinton when she was First Lady constantly carping about the Right Wing Conspiracy when defending her husband. But when she got to the Senate, Hillary worked with both sides of the aisle and had a good reputation for being an effective Senator. Al needs to leave his shrill, sarcastic “humor” for the books and be a Senator for all Minnesotans — even those of us who do not agree with his political views.

@chile, when you sink to homophobic jokes, you lose short and long-term respect. Short term through ad hominem arguments showing you’re incapable of explaining yourself like an adult and longer term by turning away gay Republicans who get sick of the hate.
Is suggesting that I’m gay really worth that cost?
December 28th, 2009 at 7:05 AM
Apparently Mr. Ed believes he is being called gay and that being called gay is a bad thing, even hateful.
His reaction is homophobic if not bigoted.
The definition of “effeminate” does not indicate homosexual behavior. In short it would appear the chile is merely suggesting that Mr. Ed is not manly.
Effeminate: 1. (of a man or boy) displaying characteristics regarded as typical of a woman; not manly
2. lacking firmness or vigour

Ed, I mention Barney Frank and you immediately thing “gay”.
Why are you so homophobic?
