UPDATE: MNPUBLIUS MUST APOLOGIZE TO REP. EMMER & LOWV

By Luke Hellier | February 4, 2010

DFL Bloggers MNPublius.Com has again stretched the truth in attacking Republicans.

Last week, Zack Stephenson wrote that the Supreme Court rejected the amicus brief presented by Rep. Emmer and signed by other members of the Republican House and Senate caucuses.

However, this was a flat out lie.  In fact, the court has accepted Rep. Emmer’s amicus brief and here are the documents to support that:

Please check back with MDE on this developing story.

Update:  Not only did Zack Stephenson make false statements about Rep. Emmer, he made a pretty disrespectful remark about the League of Women Voters.

What is Zack implying with his comment “…he couldn’t even write a brief interesting enough to compete with the League of Women Voters?”

Is Stephenson implying that the people with the League are incompetent?

On behalf of all Democrats everywhere, I apologize for the fact that one of my number screwed up the Emmer thing. Actually, this never was much of an issue. The Supreme Court can accept or reject amicus briefs at their discretion. And neither acceptance nor rejection should be taken as a reflection on the lawyers, or their arguments. Emmer is a bright guy and a good lawyer, and in this case, I am sure the Court would benefit from hearing his views.

Hiram, you don’t need to appoligize for Zack. His lies are intentional.

To all the bloggers out there who demand to have the same access as credentialed media this is why you don’t.
