MARK DAYTON WAS AGAINST DAYTON’S DEPARTMENT STORE BEFORE HE WAS FOR IT
By Luke Hellier | September 9, 2010
Senator Mark Dayton has a new commercial touting his connection to Dayton’s Department stores.
This is odd considering he crusaded against that connection in the past:
“DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton, standing before the department store that bears his family’s name, announced his proposal Monday to require all Minnesota employers to provide health insurance for all workers. If elected governor, Dayton said, he would propose legislation on the first day of the 1999 session requiring companies to provide health coverage on the first day of work for full-time employees and prorated coverage for part-time employees. He made the announcement in front of Dayton’s St. Paul store because it is one of the large companies in Minnesota that doesn’t provide such insurance to all employees.” (Maria Douglas Reeve, “Dayton wants health coverage for all workers”, Pioneer Press, May 19, 1998)
It seems that Mark Dayton is only Pro-Dayton’s Department store when it’s politically convenient.

I am compiling a list of things Republicans believe that are not true. I have found another.
Believing businesses should provide health insurance means you are anti-business.

Yeah, there’s a pretty big disconnect between the accusation and the actual statement, isn’t there Hector.

Wow, Mark Dayton must really want to kill small business.
If this proposal passes, many small businesses will be forced to close or leave this state.

The best part of Mark Dayton’s numbers is that they don’t add up. Go figure… a lying DFLer.

Ummm, Why is Dayton store considered a model benchmark or a badge of courage anymore?
Dayton’s was bleeding $$… so Target re-interviewed a chunk of their employees and sent the bottom 10% to Dayton’s… brought over Dayton’s high potential productive employees and then dumped Dayton’s.
Target then took the cash and invested in the Target Credit Card ops.
Dayton’s was a dinosaur in Retail.

I had a dream to make my firm, but I did not have enough of money to do this. Thank heaven my mate proposed to take the home loans. Thus I took the car loan and made real my old dream.
